Hi Guys,
I'm about to put a house on the market, it had a new boiler installed exactly 18 months ago. I have the original gas safe install certificate.
The boiler hasn't been serviced since the install.
Question is do I need a new gas safe cert in order to sell the house?
Thanks in advance,
MT

No you don't.
Does the boiler need servicing to maintain the warranty?
A recent service might be a good thing - in the eyes of any buyer.0 -
No, you don't. If any prospective vendors feels the need for a cert they can arrange for the boiler to be inspected at their own cost before they make an offer.0

Excellent thanks guys.

Is there a warranty on the boiler? 3 years? Chances are it is invalid unless serviced annually.
However the answer to your Q is, no, you don't need a certificate.0 -
I bought a house of someone who had a boiler install in 2010 , and hadnt had an install cert or any servicing since
I had it serviced and checked myself by a trusted gas safe engineer as i wanted his house enough

Why? This serving thing is a relatively recent invention. When I was a child, nobody had their boiler serviced every year.
I've lived at the current property for 12 years and not had the boiler serviced. I should imagine that I'm £1,000 (minimum) better off. Enough to pay for a new boiler.0 -

What a ridiculous thing to say - do you get your electrics checked every year?Every generation blames the one before...
