But if they OP is out of minimum term, then an 'I can't afford the £60 service call charge, so will have to give notice' approach will put you straight through to retentions, and invariably result in the service call charge being waived.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • The equipment is the OP's property as far as Sky are concerned, and if the OP is in contract they won't let it go just because the dish has been stolen.

The OP didn't say whether or not they were in contract - so that is why I made the suggestion, nothing ventured and all that.
  • not a dish but some joker stole 1/4 of my aerial cable and what was worse they pulled it from the inside so that pulled all the Pvr's down - all in they cut 30 feet.

I was in at the time but I blamed one of my cats and by the time I worked out the aerial cable was missing they were well gone.

I got a local guy to repair it and move the entry hole to above my window and its now cemented in place.

its something you don't think would ever happen.

why anyone would risk stealing 30 feet of cable I cant explain all I know is it costs me far more than the value of the cable.
  • I once came home to find that my neighbours had cut the aerial cable leading to our front room television and attached it to theirs! We hadn't noticed for a while because of having Sky and hardly using the aerial.

The neighbours excuse? "We didn't know it was yours"

When they get caught for selling the Dish they'll probably be charged with receiving.
They'll avoid jail and put on a programme.
  • was it dirty? have you left it in the dishwasher?
