As a deduction? I would be very surprised if it was a deduction. No I haven't. But I read online it shows on some payslips.

It wont as its not a deduction its what the employer paysI don't know if it shows as a deduction. But some people said it shows on their payslips. I never had it on my payslips, that's why I'm confused. I work 36 hours a week and charged £8 p/h.
You need to ask why the deduction is taking place
Why the net salary is more then you have been paid.

It's called Employers NIC for a reason;).
I'm an employer and we pay it, not the employee. If it is being deducted, you need to let HMRC need, it's totally wrong.0 -
NIC/PAYE is a minefield for the small employer. Easy to misunderstand the rules and regulations, especially if you are doing it yourself.0

I have a faint memory of someone on MSE whose agency was doing this, also of someone working via an umbrella company, maybe in the construction industry.
If you are working directly for an 'ordinary' business then you pay your Class 1 contribution which is deducted, and your employer pays their bit, which should certainly not be deducted from your pay.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Thank you everyone, I thought is wrong, but I just wanted to make sure before I'll contact anyone.
Thank you again0 -
Yes it is, but the deduction doesnt show on my payslip. Gross pay is 1,080.00, income tax is 58.40, employee NIC is 52.08. Which comes up to 110.48 total deduction. My net pay is £969.52 (which is on my payslip)
Then there is Employer's NIC £60.58.
But that is not deducted on the payslip. He just transferred £908.94 to my account.
If your net pay is shown on your pay advice as £969.52, you need to ask your empolyer why you have only received £908.94 into your bank account.
I'm sure there is a logical explanation ... even if it is that the employer has made a simple error.
Let us know the outcome of your enquiries then we can advise you further if necessary

Thank you. I will let you know.
I'm just waiting for the accountant to call me back, as my employer never knows anything or pretends he doesn't know anything.0
