Hi, I need a help.
I'm working for new employer and he is deducting Employer's NIC
From my wage. It shows on my payslip. Which I never had before. Can he do that? I checked online, but I can't find clear answer, which I understand.
Thank you

are you sure its actually being deducted? The employers NIC shows on my payslips, but its not deducted from my pay..0

Yes it is, but the deduction doesnt show on my payslip. Gross pay is 1,080.00, income tax is 58.40, employee NIC is 52.08. Which comes up to 110.48 total deduction. My net pay is £969.52 (which is on my payslip)
Then there is Employer's NIC £60.58.
But that is not deducted on the payslip. He just transferred £908.94 to my account.0 -
First thing to do is approach employer and let him know there has been a mistake, if it isn't corrected them come back for more advice.0

I asked him about it, but he said very confident that it has to be like that.0

He is incorrect. The Employer pays It not the employee!! Call HMRC or ACAS for confirmation.0

Employers NIC gets paid from the Employer to the HMRC not from the employee hence it being called Employers NICI asked him about it, but he said very confident that it has to be like that.
As suggested as the person who does the payroll, get them to explain.
The payslip should match the amount paid to you.
Then call the HMRC and maybe send them a copy of the payslip and the bank statement. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
OP - are other employees also having the employer's NIC deducted as well?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

If he has been doing this for everyone he employs over several years then he could owe thousands in back pay!Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0

Thank you everyone for your answers.
It's a small company and I'm the only one working here.
Some people say he has to take it from my wage. But it just doesn't make sense to me. I've been paid twice and he took £131 from my wages in both months. Even if he has to deduct it from my wage, why the deduction doesn't show on my payslip...0 -
Why doesn't it show on the payslip?Thank you everyone for your answers.
