metal or divan bed frame?

that is so bizarre someone asking almost asking the same question, well similar. my problem is that my ex was a carpenter and built this huge pine bed while in the room, so there is the first problem in so much that it would need to be taken apart before moving it. this was built as it was meant to be better for my back, it wasn't, we then tried sheets of mdf to cover the slats, but no difference. we then start the where we are now bid by changing mattresses, more expensive and firmer as i have gone along. however, i am finding I am more comfortable and getting more sleep when I sleep in the travel lodge type hotels where they have softer like marshmellow mattresses. so we are now up to date with my dilemma. I would quite like one of those black metal frame type bed as opposed to a divan, but would having what I hear is just slats make for agony in a couple of of months when both me and the mattress start slipping through the slats. but would getting a divan even if with a marshmellow try mattress still be very firm. the lift up ones showing the storage are a looks quite appealing. am hoping to get along to one of those places like bensons etc to try out their sleep station to see what feels more comfortable. but would appreciate any feed back I can get now before I have obliged myself to taking apart this one as I can imagine in it being a hell of a job. what is the general consensus? do I even need to change the bed at all, do I just buy a squidgy mattress and see how I get along, after all could always buy the bed bit after, if I have to???

You post is not the easiest in the world to read.
But it's the mattress that makes a world of difference to a bed. Pocket springs are the best to go for.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
sorry, what I was trying to ask was now that I want to have a cosy marshmallow mattress as opposed to buying firm what I thought was what I should be ordering. but don't know if there should be a particular base I need to have to make sure I have the marshmallow effect as I would quite like a metal frame and don't think they have a great deal of support, also sorry again if text not clear0

I would suggest a sprung divan base so it isn't too firm but the bed itself probably only affects comfort levels 1% and the other 99% is the mattress so don't worry too much about it being too firm a base.
However, most mattresses (even soft ones) are fine on slatted bases just makes sure you turn it regularly.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards.
