Well done on your WIN. :T
What do I do now to help more people fight these crooks?

    1. Tell as many people as you can that the level of these charges are wholly unjustified and are unenforceable.

    2. Tell them they can be beaten

    3. Tell them that 'IGNORE' is no longer the way to deal with PCNs.

    4. Tell them to come here and read the NEWBIES sticky which should contain everything they need to deal with things.

    5. Tell them AGAIN that 'IGNORE' is no longer the way to deal with PCNs.

    6. Join us on here from time to time and offer advice to newbies who now find themselves in the position you have recently experienced - you have more 'experience' in that regard than me. You'd be very welcome to help the small 'team' of regulars.

    Well done again. :T
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Congratulations Andy - what did the assessor rule on?

Btw like you I wanted to help people become more aware about these baseless charges - was incensed about what they are getting away with once I'd had my eyes opened after coming to the forum for help - so I've been helping out where I can.

It's satisfying to think that maybe I might just be helping to cost them money ;-)

It was the usual pre estimate of losses.

I have just sent a nice email to Nicola Dearden at Peel Holdings to thank her for her lack of help and for continuing to upset paying customers by using these cowboys.

I have posted on a few sites now and most people are saying just ignore them. I know on here it is clear that people say do not ignore, but I was wondering what the implications are if you do?

In England or Wales the PPC may take the registered keeper to court.

In most cases it'll be the old serious of threatograms and then it all goes away, but some PPCs are particularly litigious (e.g. Parking Eye).

Ignoring is still valid advice, provided you're not one of those "victims" the PPC decides to pursue to court. So whilst valid it is bad advice since the whole thing can be made to go away long before the lottery of court. (Defending a court action is far more onerous than PPC appeal and POPLA).

Being sued. Much more stressful than winning at POPLA!

By the way stick around and join our little team of regulars here if it suits you to post regaulrly, you can help others by passing on the benefit of your experiences.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
