Tuning my Panasonic DVD Recorder to the TV without Cable

It looks like we may be purchasing a PVR and chucking our 100% reliable Panasonic (state of the art when we bought it) in the bin. Perhaps I will email David Cameron and let him know I am doing my bit to ignore his green policies ....
Perhaps you should put the old Panasonic on eBay, Gumtree or Freecycle, rather than in the electrical recycle at your local dump site. You shouldn't put it in the regular household waste.
I've successfully sold a number of analogue Video Cassette Recorders and DVD Recorders on eBay in recent times. Your DVD recorder will be perfectly usable by someone who wants to use it as a standalone recorder, rather than as a TV receiver.
If nobody buys it from eBay or Gumtree, put it on Freecycle.0 -

For goodness sake, just buy a "freeview box" connect it up, and continue to use your 100% reliable Panasonic (state of the art when we bought it) recorder. It really is that simple . . .:)0

He does have a point, though - as I pointed out earlier, putting a Freeview Box between your aerial and the DVD recorder will do the trick to a certain extent, but for maximum flexibility in using an electronic programme guide to select programmes and automatically record them, you should get a Freeview-capable PVR or DVD recorder.
I've always used Panasonic, so they may be a good place for you to start0 -

Yes you are right on both points and I too like Panasonic, they have always been good products that I have bought so I will take a look.
