I've just had from two night shifts from the Go-Live for the new software.

    OMFG!! uvula.gif

I've formally accepted this job and it's been the most stressful weekend I can remember for a long time.

I was nearly crying at the end when a load of printing just went wrong.

I went over an hour of my scheduled time and had to cancel a doctor's appointment at short notice. It was miserable.

When I went to get my timesheet signed, my boss was one of a huge number of people in a massive open plan office all dealing with software queries/issues/problems. It was eye-popping.gifjaw-dropping.gif

I get it. When something new is introduced it takes time to adjust, but this is crazy.....

    OMG.....what have I done?
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

It's going to be all right. You go in there, do your best within your allotted hours and then you go home. And probably drink a glass of wine. You don't own that software, you didn't write it, so you're not expected to take total ownership of everything that stinks about it.

    That's the theory any road....

:( Theory and practice are so far apart here that transport is needed to travel between them.

Before all this, I volunteered to cover the software helpdesk as well as do the normal shifts in the usual office.

I'm in tonight and I'm dreading it.

After the last few nights, I'm seriously considering withdrawing my acceptance of the job.

So, you ask for guidance from your line-manager. Get it in writing that the issues you are facing aren't what you expected to have to deal with. If others in the organisiation are battling with it, it won't be a surprise to anyone that you are, too.

It was pay day at both places today.

Job A hasn't paid me for April. This is just getting better and better. :(
