Going to have a moan now. I need a new fridge-freezer as mine is totally dead. So that's £300 that I need to spend. have looked around and gone with ao.com again, after their fab service last time (I bought my washing machine from them).
Free next day delivery, and they take away your old appliance for £9.99
Not happy about having to spend that money, but needs must.0 -

My small second fridge (bought in Jersey in 1990) is on the fritz. Getting warmer, gonna have to replace it.0 -
Good morning
Feeling much more motivated at the momentUnfortunately I am buying a fridge freezer today instead of saving any money. However, its needed, so there isn't much I can do about it.
So it'll be another month until I can save anything. Bummer.
Food shop was £98 this week, yikes!0 -
That is a bummer, but surely once this is bought you won't have many other electrical appliances that can fail?!? Haha hopefully you'll have bought yourself about 10 years of not worrying about your freezer cooking out.
Nice weekend planned?
We've got my cousins 8th birthday tomorrow and my dad's birthday tonight (hence why I'm skint now) so other than that we won't be doing much I don't think.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Hahaha, I hope that will be it for new appliances! Touch wood!
I am not doing anything this weekend, apart from going to Dartmoor on Sunday with the kids.
Tomorrow I am staying home until my new fridge freezer has been delivered. Oh joy!0 -
Wonderful
at least it'll be a cheap day if you have to stay in the house!
What's changed motivation-wise? Where did you find it? Lol
I'm still marginally motivated but could do with another deposit into my savings to keep my savings spirits high. To reach by initial £8k goal by the end of the year I need to save £988 per month until December 31st...not totally impossible but not likely either.
I'm going to do my absolute best though!!
Been on slimming world since Monday and so far so good. Not sure if it's just an attitude thing, but I feel like I have more energy and just generally feel good. It's a positivity thing, I'm sure of it.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Not sure what has changed really.
I went over to the agency yesterday to talk about the 'take over' (that makes it sound much more impressive than it actually is) and I think that definitely helped too. I look at the house that the woman who runs it lives in, the lifestyle she has, and I think that I could achieve the same for myself and the children.
My new FF is being delivered after 3pm so I am off to buy some paint for my kitchen in the meantime. I shouldn't spend more than £20, as I have a voucher
Not a free day, but a low spend day at least!0 -
Your day sounds good- is the kitchen just needing a fresh lick of paint?
That's great about the meeting with the agency, did it help iron things out a bit? Do you know what's happening now? I have no doubt that with some hard work and effort, you'll be able to build a fab life for you and your sons.
I think that you might hace stolen my motivation, I'm feeling really blah about it all today.
My neighbour is selling her flat at the moment and we're hoping to follow suit next year. They viewed a house a few weeks ago and loved it bit discounted it because it needed too much work done to it. In a coincidence, the woman that owns that house came to view my neighbour's flat. She told them that if they bought her house, she'd buy their flat!! They thought about it and decided that it was still too much money to do it up and theyd hate waiting in a half finished house etc.
I sneakily looked at the house online and it's FAB! Four bedrooms, large living space, huge garden, garage, nice area etc. And it's really reasonably priced. Our flat is more or less identical so we thought that it might work out for us if we could speak to my parents about temporarily helping us out.
I got the idea in my head and sat for ages working out sums, but the reality is, we just don't have enough money to do it yet, sadly. I tried working out everything and it just wouldn't work.
I know it was silly to get my hopes up that we could make it work when we're nowhere near our target yet, but it kind of put me on a downer. Boo!
I just desperately want to move house.
Anyway, enough woe is me! Must focus and get back in to savings mode.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))
