Good grief, that's so expensive for uniform!! Is there anyway to cut the cost? Buy plain white polo's instead of school branded ones? Same with the rugby tops? Sorry, I'm sure you'd do this if it was possible, just sounds so expensive!! I can't believe that!

Glad you got your food shopping done, mine is getting done tomorrow so I'll need to write my list tonight and do my meal plan. Distinctly lacking in inspiration for what to have though so I hope something comes to me.

I'm at my grandma and grandpa's visiting just now. They're out in the garden with the little man and I'm inside doing some housework for them on the sly.

    Hi WantToBeSE
While this is of no direct use to you, I have a friend whose business is, in part, printing or embroidering logos and messages on clothing. He will put all the local schools' logos on customer supplied clothing. Perhaps you can find a similar business near you.

Thanks EM, , that's worth looking into, but only for the polo shirts as everything else is specific colours and patterns to the school :)

Jo- the shirts have to be the school logo ones, and the rugby shirts (and everything else) and specific to the college, so they have to be the school ones. The black trousers I get from Tesco though, as they are just the usual black trousers. Its so expensive once they get to secondary school!

What does everyone have planned for their Sunday? I am planning a nice relaxing one. Just going to potter about doing housework and catching up on the mountain of washing.
The beautiful weather seems to have abandoned Cornwall for now, and its been raining since yesterday. So I cant put the washing out on the line, will have to use the TD instead. Booooo!

Have written my meal plan for the week:
    -Tarka Dal
    -Cauliflower and Mac Cheese
    -Chicken curry and nann
    -Chicken, Saag Aloo, pitta breads
    -Leek and Chorizo risotto
    -Lamb hotpot
    -Tuna sweetcorn pasta

Have done the budgets for the week, and am pretty much all prepared for the week ahead.

Just been shopping for the wedding that I am best (wo)man for next weekend.
Spent £100 and got shoes, hair stuff and earrings, a clutch bag, a shirt for my youngest, and a shirt for the oldest, both of the boys got some smart black shoes too.
It was more than I wanted (or expected) to spend, but it didn't come from savings, so that's ok.
Really looking forward to the wedding now :)

Got the rest of the youngest sons 'back to school' stuff for September too.

Ooh, that £100 bill stings! Not much you can do if you needed the bits and bobs.

I spent £100 on groceries today, but bought two jars of coffee, some loo roll, cleaning bits, toiletries and a fair bit of meat. Hopefully the next few shoppings will be about £30-40 per week.

Your meal plan sounds fab!! Mine is:

Mon- sweet chilli cod, salt and pepper potatoes and veg
Tue- chicken, bacon and pea Risotto
    Weds- parents for dinner
    Thurs- sausages and mash
    Fri- Spaghetti carbonara
    Sat- Steak pie and Veg

I had a nice day today- got all my shopping done, did a roast dinner, went to visit my mother in law and got some housework done, all while trying to keep the little fella occupied! His energy knows no bounds recently so he's been hard work!

Husband's road tax reminder came through yesterday and it's £124 for six months!! Uurgh.

Just a quiet one tonight watching the world cup with a bottle of beer in my hand :)

Beer in hand here too Jo :) A box of 12 Carlsberg blackberry flavour for £5 in Tesco :) They also do the citrus flavour for the same price

Need to plonk some recipes down here, so I can come back to them later:

Tarka dal, a slow cooker version: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/slow_cooker_split_pea_93320

    Chickpea curry- http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chickpeacurry_2213
I have about 7 tins of chickpeas in my cupboards! I need to eat some of them up! Not sure the kids will like that curry, but it'll do for a lunch when I get home from work. Can batch cook both of those recipes too.

Cant believe its Sunday already, where did the weekend go??

Bought some new free books for my kindle as well today, 5 books for free :)

    That's a pity.

When you wrote that, I was already on the bus to Pickering (because there's only one bus a week, and it's just re-started as a Community Interest Company, and needs all the support it can get). Saw a Stanley Steamer (car) and a couple of steam locos and a big diesel pulling a train of Pullman cars, and got absolutely soaked, despite the waterproofs, while walking, which was the main purpose of the trip. Also spent money on chicken pie and ice-cream.

Hiya Jo, and anyone else who reads :D

I have a busy few days ahead. have been at work all day and now have to do the food shop and then take the car to be valeted, come home and do dinner and then pack everything for the wedding tomorrow. Then I need to do a trial run of my make up as I haven't tried it before.

We are leaving tomorrow at 12.30, getting there (to my friends house) at 2.30. getting ready there, then going to the wedding, booking into the (ridiculously expensive!!) hotel, and go to the reception in the evening.

I am exhausted already, but looking forward to the wedding. I am best (wo)man :)

I have a WHOLE WEEK off work next week!!!! YAY!!!!!

Right, I need to get my bum off the sofa and get the food shopping done!
