    Morning All :)

Another day, another dollar! Off to work today, but just for 3 hours, so its fine. Just feeling so exhausted at the moment.
Think i'll manage to put some money into savings today...we'll see!

EDIT- have just dropped the youngest at school and I have 10 mins before I have to leave for work.
So, have just transferred £60 into savings. Not sure how much i'll be able to save on Friday, I am yet to do this weeks budget but I THINK it'll be about £100. I'll do the calculations and budgeting this afternoon when I get home from work.
Someone told me that I can use one of those £15 off a £60 shop at Tesco if I use a new email address, does anyone know if that's right? Its supposed to be for your first online shop with Tesco, but apparently it qualifies if its jut a new email address? I am going to try this if that's correct. Must do my online shopping today, as I don't have time to do it until the weekend now, and certainly don't want to waste a Saturday morning doing it!
  • Yep, it doesn't cross reference addresses, so if its a new email address it thinks you are a new customer :p
I think you can go through topcashback too or my supermarket for an extra bonus!
Well done on saving the extra £60 today.
I should be able to save a little more by the end of the week too :j

Excellent, thanks MO! I have a £5 off voucher (the last of my clubcard vouchers) as well as several other vouchers to use up from Tesco, so I should get a nice sum of money off this weeks shopping!

Just got home from work and its blowing a hoolie out there! The rain was horrendous too. So arrived home and made a cup of coffee, then grabbed a packet of crisps and a handful of chocolate hobnobs...very healthy lunch...NOT! ;)

Do you have a diary, MO?

Edit- Have just done my budget for Friday. I should be able to save £107.88 :)

Excellent job on the savings front! Another £107 into the pot come Friday :)

I've had a poor day today, although i knew it was coming. I was going out with my colleagues for lunch today and it was supposed to be the little restaurant across the road which does a fixed price lunch for £5.

Instead they decided to go to a pub along the road, where the only option was a variety of burgers for £8.95 upwards!! So i chose the cheapest one on the menu and had a glass of water. RAGE! I then had to chip in £10 for the leaving gift, which i wasn't best pleased about because the last i heard, we were putting in £5 each. Apparently they found out an awesome gift and decided while I was off to just put in £10 each. DOUBLE RAGE!

Anyway, that's almost £20 out the window today, so we're on an economy drive for the rest of the week.

I did put £3 into the £ tin though, so that's something.

Stressful day at work today too, but I'm only in tomorrow then that's me until Monday. Phew!

    Hi All :)

Went to work, had a nice easy day today as I was working with another person from the agency. Then had to take my youngest son to the dental service and have just got home.

I desperately need to do a food shop, but I just hate it! Online or in store, makes no difference, its the 1 job I cant stand doing. I want to stamp my feet and scream "I don't want to!!" but I feel like that's unacceptable for a 34 year old ;)

I will try to do it online this evening (groan)...I say that every Wednesday and Thursday...kill me now!

Jo, it sounds like you were pressured into spending more than you wanted, I hate it when that happens.

Right...I am now off to make shopping list!

EDIT- Food shop done online..what a waste of £53, totally annoyed with myself as I don't think I ordered anything decent! Grr!

I can't believe how much you hate food shopping! I actually quite like it, although I always seem to forget something. Oops! my most hated 'household' thing is probably ironing. I actually can't stand it!

I'm not the most domesticated, but I get by :)

What are you up to today? I don't work on a Friday so once my son is up from his nap, we're going round to my friend's for tea and cake then by husband will be home from his week working away around 3pm so can't wait to see him!

Today was going to be a NSD but I need bread and also I said I'd bring the cake to my friend's house. Should only be £3.50 spend max.

Another £3 has gone into the £ tin, but nothing added to the savings account yet. Husband still hasn't been paid for that homer but I'm excited about that coming in so that we can add that to the pot.

We've got some big bills coming out on Tuesday then the rest (inc mortgage etc) on 28th so I don't think i'll be transferring anything to the savings until 28th when I get paid.

Remember, it's council-tax free month this month and next month so for us, that'll be an extra £150 each month that will go to the savings account.

Motivation is low because I've spent much more than I was intending to, but the only way it up!

    Good afternoon All, TGIF!!

Another £130 into the savings pot today, so new total = £1238.28 :)

So to reach my target of £1500 by the end of this month, I need to save another £261.72..hmmm, I am going to sit down over the weekend and write my budget for the next 2 weeks to make sure I can do it (I know I can).

The weather here is atrocious...again! The wind is just awful, and there are flooded roads everywhere. The journey to work has terrible, although not too bad on the way home :)

Jo- yes I detest food shopping so much! Would you believe that when I first came to this site, I came because I was spending too much money on food shopping. I actually enjoyed going to the supermarket and couldn't stay away from them!! Hahaha, oh how times have changed!
Delivery was supposed to be here 4pm-5pm today, but just had a text to say that the delivery van has been delayed so it'll now be here between 4pm-6pm??

Ironing is a swear word in my house, haha! I have probably only ironed 3 items of clothing in the last 3 years..i'll never win awards for being the most domesticated of women, will I!

Come on, Jo, stay motivated! I'll have to shout at you like an Army Instructor else..hup 2 3 4! You can do it! So what if you spent a little more than planned, its not a race :)

Did you have a nice time with your friend?

Grr I just wrote a long post and lost it!! I'll make this one quick because I'm about to go to bed!

You're so right- I can do it! Sir, yes, sir! I suppose I just lost motivation but I bet when I next make a transfer, I'll be focused again.

There is no doubt in my mind that you'll meet your target by your deadline. You're a determined lady and you work hard! There's no reason why you shouldn't!

Shall I gather my motivation together and set myself an 'end of the month' target too?

    Feeling brave...

My end of Feb target is £1,400.

As long as husband gets paid his homer by the end of the month, we should definitely meet this target.

That's a shame about the weather at yours- it's dreadful to see what's happening all over the country. We had snow for a couple of hours this evening but it was too wet to lie.

Should be minimal food shopping this weekend, because I've got loads in the freezer so should just be top ups.

I had a lovely time with my friend- she loves to play with my little one and we had a good catch up so was lovely thanks. Ended up not spending anything because she text me last minute saying she already had cakes! I'll get the bread tomorrow :)

Right, going to post this before I lose this one too!

WantToBeSE, I know you can meet your target too :) You're very close!

The weather here is atrocious too - coming back from the station this evening I very nearly got blown over by the wind and had to hang on to a wall. It's pouring down now outside. :(

    Morning All :)

Urgh, I feel rough! My delightful sproglets have shared their germs with me...cant say they aren't generous! Cold, fever and aching all over, thankfully its the weekend so I can relax! Not back to work until Tuesday now :)

I am just on the phone to Talk Talk, cancelling my BB..wow they are persistent! They REALLY want to keep me, but afraid not. BT is getting my custom from now on, TT have shocking service!

Jo- yay, I am glad you have set a February target too :) Do you have a diary too?

Cathy- I hope you are safe and warm now.

I need to have a bath and then go and get some milk because I am desperate for a cup of tea!
