PC to TV no audio

Hello all,

Have ran a VGA cable from back of pc to tv....how do i get sound from the tv?? There are audio in sockets free at the back of tv but no audio out [red/white] sockets at the back of the pc.

Also how do I get netflix to show on 2nd monitor with my desktop showing on the other?

Connect a Behringer UCA202 to a USB port, and connect Red/White outs from Behringer to Audio in on telly

    UCA202s around £15-20 on eBay

Or run a cable from the headphone socket of the laptop to the TV.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Totally stumped here, tried headphone to headphone just kills sound on both devices......really stumped though with getting netflix to play on 2nd monitor.....am running windows 8 and when i try to share it says "nothing can be shared from desktop".....so far have managed to get the netflix shortcut on the 2nd monitor using the "extend" setting, but when i click play it, and everything else, comes up on main monitor...

You don't want to plug the cable to the headphone output on the TV. Look around the back of the TV for an audio input. It's likely to be a 3.5mm jack socket (just like the output on most PCs).
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Wont work because its a different socket to the headphone out on the pc, audio in on tv is the red/white sockets of old.....think i'll give up and get another smart-box cant suss the video output to put netflix on secondary monitor alone, everything opens on whichever monitor is set to "primary" which begs the question, why bother with a 2nd monitor at all?

All you need to do is connect your headphone socket on your computer to your audio in on your television. If you want different things on your monitors just go to control panel, appearance, connect to a different display. Then you should have the choice to mirror what is on your screen or to run two different screens.

If you have a VGA input on the TV then there will be a corresponding audio input? On my Samsungs the audio in is right next to the VGA connector. The two RCA sockets are normally outputs from the TV?? If not you can get an audio cable which gives single stereo out 3.5mm plug to 2 *3.5mm plugs for L & R input.
    Example is top item below:-
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_12?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=audio%20cables%203.5mm%20jack&sprefix=audio+cables%2Caps%2C319
    Hope that helps :)

Am running windows 8 can get the mirror screens running ok and can switch from one monitor to another, but when i set to expand, everything opens on whichever screen is set to primary....flummoxed :o
