dog castration

My two cavaliers are castrated and there were some changes :
Both, overnight, stopped marking indoors (something that only started when we were down to two from four and possibly because they are only 6 months apart in age). This surprised the vet, as he said that marking does not always stop, especially if it has become habit, and even then takes a while to sort itself.
Joly's coat has blown, growing to as much as 10 inches long , though still fine, and his nails grow faster , too. In contrast, Teddy's coat has become harsh, making bare patches appear in bony areas where he has rubbed himself .
Both will more easily put on weight, so diet and exercise have to be watched.
No change in Teddy's temperament, but Joly is a little more assertive, warning Teddy is he approaches him while eating, (having gobbled his own food) but fine otherwise.
PS For post op, I recommend a Comfy collar. They are much nicer for the dog than regular cones, which really upset some dogs. Teddy loved wearing his ,as it was a mobile pillow.0
