I think they're great fun. They spell out "Eventvwr" and it will always take me at least six attempts to spell it properly. You can hear the exasperation in their voice as you repeat back "Evnetwvr", then " Envetvrw" and so on.
Always punctuate the call with a five minute break to go for a wee - and just pour a bottle of water into the toilet with the phone next to you....
Great fun.0 -

What a stupid reply. There are some silly keyboard warriors who just want to reply to anything regardless of what they say.
Generally when my phone rings I pick it up to seew ho is calling me, phfftAll the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
Because some of us can't really ignore calls from withheld/unavailable numbers (which these scammers use) because of having friends or family abroad in countries where their number may not be released or available by the time the call gets to the UK network.yangptangkipperbang wrote: »Why answer it in the first place ?0 -
The latest call I had was a female person with an Indian accent claiming that my computer was flashing up warnings to them that it was infected with a virus. I asked her to tell me my IP address so that I could confirm that it was indeed my computer sending these warnings. She said, 'I cannot give you this information' and rang off. I'll use this one again if I can't be bothered to play them along for while.
I had one scammer who was so dim she didn't even know what an IP address was..... Put me on to her supervisor, she did. Now, that was fun, but he wouldn't accept payment by postal order.'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' George Carlin0 -
