He came in from school disappointed again - poor lad! Had a look round the net and Smyths have reduced the game to the same price as Amazon, but it said they couldn't determine the stock availability.

Popped over to see if they had any, and the man said he had one left in the display cabinet that he could have, so I've got a happy son now :D

Will send the Amazon one back when it arrives and ask for a refund.
Here I go again on my own....
  • If Amazon goods don't arrive on or before the estimated arrival date, you can normally get a prepaid label (you print it out yourself) to return it.
You just go to your orders in your account, click on the returns section and give the reason as missed estimated arrival date and then simply follow the prompts to print out the lable.

Tee-hee, I did this when I preordered mass effect. I had taken the day off because I'm a big fan of the series, so when it hadn't arrived by noon I was fretting that I was going to have wasted my day off. Went to Asda and bought it, and when I returned there was a missed delivery card from the postie - doh!

Ordered Call of Duty Ghosts in September as a present for my sons birthday. The Amazon page said it pre-order for release day delivery.

It's release day today, but the order hasn't arrived. I've contacted Amazon who said they dispatched it by Royal Mail last night and it doesn't have a tracking number, so they don't know where it is but lots of other customers have said theirs hasn't turned up either!

Got one disappointed lad who came in from school looking forward to playing on his birthday game, and now he's sitting watching You Tube videos as all his mates have got their copies but he can't join in!

    Not happy with Amazon

I hope it was his 16th birthday lol :rotfl:

In all seriousness as someone else said try Shopto next time if your desperate for that day 1 edition and dont want to play shop prices.

That said the 'sending early' post issue means a lot of my friends now just go to shop and pay the extra for having it Day 1.

It is obvious what they are when they are going through the system in bulk, all too easy for someone in the PO to "mislay"!!

Yes, everyone in the post office knows the exact day that some game comes out and they steal them all.

    ...or not.

How many parcels go through royal mail per day?
How many parcels do Amazon ship per day?
Do you really believe that there's someone in the Post Office who sends out an all-staff email saying "OK guys, todays the day that everything from Amazon is going to be this once in a lifetime game".
Sorry, I don't think the world is full of:
    1. Theives
    2. People who are obsessed with playing some little game the day it comes out, because if they don't play it that day then they may as well kill themselves.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

    Sidenote.

As you selected guaranteed release day delivery, this constitutes as part of the terms of sale, and under the Sale Of Goods Act, specifically the part about Misrepresentation you are entitled to a full refund, including shipping both ways.

So make sure you get a full refund + any other costs associated with posting it back (if any).

I was just using the "PO" from poet123's post - I assume he meant Post Office (or possibly Royal Mail)

OK, I apologise for being wrong in quoting the poet.
