shopto.net are in a significantly worse position than Amazon, Amazon have atleast the size to pretend like they could take on Vivendi, something ShopTo won't ever get close to.

Vivendi don't own activision anymore though?

If you paid extra for delivery and Amazon said that by doing that you would get the game on release date, you could always ask them to refund what you spent on delivery? They are normally pretty good at doing that.

Won't get your son the game any quicker obviously but at least you won't have paid for a service you didn't receive.
  • i also pre-orderd call of duty and put the shipment for day release delivery and it now wednesday and it still hasnt turned up

They still own a percentage, which still gives them more than enough clout to be able to spook Amazon.

Yes if they P'ing off their suppliers and they stop providing Amazon, just look at HMV and Game and what happened to them when they stopped getting supplies from major suppliers.

Not exactly the same is it. HMV and Game couldn't afford to pay their suppliers so of course they are going to stop providing them.

I think amazon are too big to be scared by them. Not supplying to amazon would be a crazy business decision.

It was free release day delivery so I haven't paid anything to have it delivered.

I did send a complaint to Amazon and got a generic email back saying it was sent first class mail and they're not prepared to do anything until after the 9th November.

If they'd put "free release day delivery but you might not get it until the 9th" on their original order page, then I wouldn't have bought it from Amazon!

Still no sign of the game, so he's come in from school disappointed again :(

They can only despatch the game when they are allowed to, it's up to the postal service then to deliver.

There will always be problems, for a small % of people, who don't get their item on time. I'm sure if a significant amount of people, have not received their item on time and have complained, then Amazon, might look at sending items in a different way.

Like any other item, they have procedures to follow before they will do anything about non delivery.

I've said it before, but sometimes, it is still better to shop for items offline.

They didn't have to use the postal service though. They know first class mail isn't guaranteed next day delivery. When they've advertised it as release day delivery and they know they can't dispatch until the day before, you'd think they would use a courier or other more reliable method of sending it.

I still feel mislead by the original order page, and disappointed that they've never apologised and just sent me a generic email.
Here I go again on my own....
