You mean 999 is too much??

Its a sarcastic remark, just ignore it. The score is not something 3 have any interest in, retailers have their own criteria.

Are you on the electoralregister? Have you applied for other credit products /loans etc recently? Changed address recently?

Get a copy of your credit reports from all three agencies, or atleast Equifax and Experian and check if they are accurate and there are no issues on either of the main companies credit reports.

Must be something which triggered a failed application -perhaps the 3 shop made a mistake entering your details if there is absolutely no problem on either of the reports, or your recent change of job is a big nono to them. . Don't waste money buying credit scores, though, they are meaningless, as you have just proven, just get the reports.

Don't know how many more times it needs to be said, Experian use a completely different scoring system to most other places. It's sold to you (From Experian) to make you think you've got a good score, most shops use a centralized agency, some even have their own scoring method.

Thing is when it came up that I failed it then advised me to lookup my credit score with Experian so I would assume 3 use them for credit referencing?

No changes of address, credit products or loans. I'm think it must be the change of job that they don't like.

You need a score of 995 to be accepted for a 3 mobile contract I'm afraid.

I cant stop laughing, @op I think what BB is trying to say is that your experian score is useless. lenders have their own criteria
    Aqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/5

It probably said check your credit report, not score.

I.e. check your financial account history as held by Experian and the other credit reference agencies, but don't pay attention to the scores they give you.

The Experian rep who posts on here says that Experian does provide scores for some companies.. but I'd expect it's not many. It makes sense that most would have their own criteria.

The only thing I can think went against me is that I have started a new job only 2 months ago, however the job is very well paid. At no point during the application was I asked my salary though.

The rate of pay is irrelevant. Length of time in current role may be a hurdle you need to leap though to meet the suppliers criteria.

I'll have a look, any idea what network they use? Unfortunately can only get 3G on EE, T-Mobile and 3 where I live so that narrows the selection down a bit.

Tesco Mobile are an MVNO on o2's network.

    How about Three's £15 All in One 15 Add-On?

    300 minutes
    3000 texts
    All You Can Eat Data.

Okay, it's only valid for 30 days.... but if you want the data, something to consider?
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

My credit rating is pants (a glaring default) but I was just passed for Virgin's unlimited VIP plan - unlimited calls, texts and data for £15 a month, 30 day rolling contract, sim only. They piggyback EE so you'd get reception.
