We didn't get any piglets this time, but we are intending to buy some land for a smallholding once DH finishes work. Won't be for at least 5 years - don't want to move before DS finishes school. We'd really like to have a couple of pigs the, amongst other things (ducks, geese, bees, sheep).

The chicks are really growing - their *grown-up* feathers are now starting to form. We've abaondoned the incubator, but have learnt a lot, so will definitely be getting more eggs next year. One chick spent all yesterday cheeping. This is often seen as a sign of cold, but as they don't tend to inhabit the warmest area of their box, this is unlikely. Might just be a chatterbox :p No other sign of distress, so not worried.

I've arranged to buy 6 more tiny chicks next week (another trip to Thirsk   ). Looking forward to that as 2 isn't enough for fresh eggs for all our needs (especially if there's boys  ).

Thanks for the advice regarding uploading video. I'll get my 11yo onto it tomorrow, and take some more stills.

It's taken us a while, but here's some video of the chicks - can anyone see it? Taken by DS on his phone.
