Sounds like you have reached the end of the road, otherwise known as rock bottom.
Time to confess your addiction to friends, family and your employer, and then go about seeking professional help.
I would recommend visiting http://www.gamcare.org.uk/ right now.0 -
having read the whole thread, I wanted to send you a virtual hug, NO I don't understand gambling but I do know a struggling person who needs help and compassion. I wish you well, PLEASE don't do anything foolishBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

I've looked into what is available from them. I don't see how it's going to work if I can't get in this week - we have a serious piece of work and I need to be on it. All of the things you mention I still need to go which I quite simply can't.0

Thanks for those last two replies0

Not strange at all.
I've lived here for 5 years, and only know about 3 of the neighbours well enough for more than just 'hello'the_insider wrote: »You might not have to tell him the full story, just the essentials. I know you've already sorted an advance but your manager might be able to point you toward other support you can get from the business. For example, my union offer crisis loans and debt advice, and the business have a confidential support line that might be able to help with your addiction. Might something like this be available to you?
This is perfect advice.
I ran about 30 miles out for 2 days a few weeks back, to help an employee whose car had broken, in exchange for little petrol money at the end of the month.
Please, whatever happens, don't do anything silly. You're at rock bottom now, and the only way is up.

Thanks for the reply CK.
I was thinking would I be able to get a sicknote for this? I don't even know what I would say. I haven't been to the doctors for years. It would cause a big problem with work not getting done and I really don't want to do that to them. I'm exhausted.0 -

I don't know, sorry. I guess at this stage the only thing you can do is try.
I suppose hitchhiking to work tomorrow isn't an option?0 -

Are you on benefits? Could you apply for a crisis loan?0

I suppose hitchhiking to work tomorrow isn't an option?
This seems like the best option I've heard so far and that realisation makes me want to cry.
My last job before this about 3 years ago I shaved my head disconnected the phones and stayed in bed for 2 weeks. The supervisors came round my flat and I ignored them. They said they would contact the police because they were worried so I sent them a letter resigning.
Utterly pathetic human.0
