  • How far is it to work? Are you not able to top up your tank rather than paying £100 to fill it? This would buy you time to sell some stuff, beg and borrow or collect all the change from down the back of the sofa to get you through until you can get some real money together.

I'm afraid you are going to have to deal with the root of your problem. Borrwing money for a train ticket, when your attendance is so poor that you risk losing your job if you don't turn up, and you've spent all your money on a gambling addiction to the point where you have defaults and ccjs left right and centre, is a bit like taking painkillers to enable you to walk with a huge stone in your shoe.

Sorry if it's harsh but until you face reality I don't see that you are going to have any way to go except downhill.

How long till you actually have some money - payday or whatever? and how far is it to work and how cheaply could you possibly get there if you started as soon as any form of transport is running? That might be the reality of it if you have no (or no more) friends or family to ask.

Haven't you even any facebook friends you could put out an appeal to? You'd have to address it to all of them and make damn sure you pay them back, of course - and DON'T think you're going to do that by winning at gambling.
  • Hi, as mentioned it's for train tickets rather than petrol - don't have a car - if I did it would have been sold by now!

A gambler will not be helped by borrowing money.
  • No money for 2 weeks. It's 30 miles can't think of another way of getting there.

    Thanks for the responses.
  • Where are you going that's going to cost '£50-£100'? How are you not able to tell how much it will cost you tomorrow?
Try https://www.thetrainline.com, come back and tell us how much it will cost. Alternatively give us the real reason you need the money. We might be able to give you some advice about how to pay what you need to.

  • insider that is the real reason. It's £13 for a day return or £54 for a week pass. I need to cover 2 weeks. I have no money and can't see any way of getting any within the next two weeks. £54 would cover one week and £108 would cover the 2 weeks so that's exactly what I need.
  • Well by paying for the day return you're only losing £2.20 a day. Might be worth calculating how much interest per day you would pay for a payday loan that doesn't appear on the first two pages of google. Have you asked work if they would offer a wage advance? Do you have any colleagues you could car share with? Or who might sub you the cash until pay day?

Buses? Megabus? National Express? Get into work tomorrow and ask if anyone lives anywhere remotely near you? Even a bit nearer would potentially reduce the cost wouldn't it?
  • An advance is how I'm getting paid in 2 weeks rather than the end of the month. I don't know anyone who travels from the same area as me and I don't think anyone would lend it to me.
