I keep a can for emergencies in case I run out of milk, you just add equal amounts of water to evaporated milk to make normal milk from it1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

I use it in my white sauces. One can evap and half a can of water.
I always have around a dozen cans in the pantry just incase I run out of fresh.0 -
My grandmother used to whip it up with almost-set jelly until it was frothy, then put it into the fridge to finish setting. When it set it was a bit like a mousse, and very yummy!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Ha..just misread your post and thought you were adding leeks to your rice pud..:rotfl:0 -
ooooooooooooooooooooo yummy if you pour a little around your porridge and then sprinkle a little sugar on top -nomnom
It's also good in a wobble pudding - that's jelly to you and me just put a little less water in and then add the evap, it looks a bit funny but tastes fab.
Also when you make winter drinks - horlicks/chocolate etc. just cream a little with the powder and add hot water - yummy too.

There used to be a chocolate cake recipe in the Bero book that included about five tablespoons of evaporated milk and I have a recipe for a chocolate sauce which uses it
Thins you mean this one. It's a great recipe and a standby of mine. If you decorate the finished cake with either maltesers or giant white chocolate buttons it looks amazing.0 -
I'd stir in grated cheese and a bit of chopped fried bacon and onion to make a quiche filling, yum. Or as already suggested, rice pudding or milk jelly. My brother likes it in coffee.0

Had it in coffee last year to help me through a cold. Really soothnig. Didn;t add my usual sugar though as it's very sweet. I think you can also make home-made Baiileys with it (and whisky).'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'

Gypsy Tart. Best school pudding ever. I picked this particular recipe at random and think creme fraiche would ruin it.Avoiding plastic, palm oil, UPF and Nestlé0
