I have just pulled a portion of casserole and dumplings out of the freezer to take for lunch tomorrow. The cold makes me crave comfort food.

I can't remember if I posted for yesterday but I took chicken soup to work yesterday and then fish pie for today. I've got three more servings of chicken soup in the freezer and two more fish pies. That means I've got three days for next week sorted out. So only need to do one batch of cooking on the weekend, though I could do two - I've got the ingredients for carrot soup and cottage pie. That will take it through to the end of November and the end of the challenge0

Hi everyone, hope no one minds me rejoining the thread? I did a 'me' and I fell completely off the MSE boards for a while. I've been back on for a while but didn't spot that this thread was still going on still until yesterday
I've been doing okay with bringing my lunches in, but I have missed this thread loads. I've had slip ups where I've beeen too lazy for a week to bring food in and then I've shocked myself with how much I subsequently spend
Hope you don't mind having me back? I don't usually track the number of days I want to bring lunch in, but I can do if needed? Presonally I just love the support on this threadxx
So.. under the hope that I can sneak back in again, today was what I fondly named this morning as 'the evlen bread alternative' lunch, lol... For those of you who read Terry Pratchett, in Witches Abroad Granny comments that the reason why elven bread is so good at keeping travellers fed, is that they'd rather eat their boots that the elven bread :rotfl:
Anyway, I didn't get organised last night (had sarnies Monday and Tuesday) and I woke up this morning thinking of having the T3sco Value Tomato Soup that's in my drawer at work for exactly this kind of emergency... Well, by the time I'd walked down the stairs, I'd resolved to find *something*... *anything* in the fridge to take to work instead :rotfl:
The soup is actually quite nice, but on a low-carb, low spends drive last month, I've well and truly put myself off another one for a fair while, whoops!
So today's food for me:
Breakfast: Jack's Bircher breakfast
Lunch: a sausage roll with a side of homemade rotis :rotfl:
Snack: Was supposed to be a kitkat chucky from the fridge but I have treated the team to mince pies this morning - 2 boxes for £2... so it's a mince pie instead, and one tomorrow too (there are only 6 of us in this week so 1 box a day is perfect for us)
Will go back now and read over the thread for this month.
Actually, I think I'll grab a cuppa first (made with Sainsbobs value teabags, last of the big spenders me... hehe)
