Hi all; and many thanks DG for the timely warning about the latest round of malware to hit cyberspace. I just read your post out to Mr LW. Although we're not on FB, everyone needs to be careful, methinks. I must admit, if I get an email apparently from an institution I use, even if it's one I'm expecting, eg to tell me my bill is available online, I still visit them via my Favourites list, I don't click on the link in the email. Just cos I'm paranoid, it don't mean they're not out to get me....
Mrs MH I totally agree with you re fireworks – they should only be available for organised displays. It was very noisy round here last night; fortunately Jessie seemed totally unfazed by it, but my heart goes out to animals who are scared and distressed.:( Hoping Molly and Poppy are feeling a bit better today; and Gonzo, yes, like your Bramble, Jessie's fine with fireworks, but hates the hoover and the lawnmower.
Just taken a quiche out of the new micro/combi oven; it looks delicious, Mr LW's going to rustle up a few chips, and we'll test it.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Went past the park and peered over the railings on the way home from chapel. The trees are leaning a bit and there a loads of twigs, bits of bigger wood and leaves about. Doesn't seem to have stopped people putting their kids onto the swings though - I suppose if the tree was in danger of coming down then the parks spotter would have marked it up.
We haven't heard many fireworks at all this year, but it has been like the Somme in the past. We are within range of two big organised displays though, so it will be loud on the 5th. Pretty, but loudI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Bore da my lovlies!
Kitchen & dining room tidied, WM on and ironing done - whew! Was going to go to Food Centre for their Autumn event but have meals planned for next couple of days so would be spending for the sake of it if I went so will do some more crochet blanket instead.
Chicken dinner tonight & lo fish pie tomorrow before running out to theatrevwith DD1 to see Agatha Christie theatre company.
DH working & just rang to say he's just seen a tree split in two by lightening last night - scary!
hugs to all who fancy one.

See Molly, that's why there should only be organised displays. Hope you're dogs are ok for now. We still have to get through the 5th.
My cat was desperate to go out but I wouldn't let him. It's not just the noise, I worry about one coming back to ground & landing on him.

First day of Diwali today and my house is a mess
This is kinda unlucky but I did just move in a fortnight ago so I'm sure I'll be let off
Today you have to buy jewellery and kitchen utensils so I'm just going to HAVE to have a look on ebay for something pretty, oh woe! Hee hee.
Got the shower head looking amazing though today, which is good as it was most shocking and vile. Last night I smeared a paste of bicarb and vinegar all over it and wrapped it up. Today I rinsed it off and gave it a quick scrub with an old toothbrush and it's good as new! Even the OH was impressed
Speaking of the OH I've sent him off to the supermarket with a list, place your bets now as to what percentage he will get right
Hope everyone is doing ok today!Challenger #52 in the £10 a day November Challenge

donny-gal apparently the bug that totalled my computer last week was from Facebook and believe me its not nice.I lost the whole of my data including my beloved 'My Misers Online Cookbook with all my collected recipes on it:(:(
TTFTM I must admit that after I had a new boiler fitted three years ago my bills did drop substantially, its paid for itself and well worth the outlay if you can afford it.
Re the too big bra's I'm not sure but I know M&S used to take them for recycling.
One of the things I'm really looking forward to buying after my reconstruction is some new ones. The prosthetic ones are awful(think Boadicea's breast plates:))
DD arrived this morning with a big bag of apples from her MIL for me plus some freebie goodies of hair shampoo and conditioner from her hotel in New York (Paul mitchell) and some of my favourite Smuckers grape jelly (love it, mixed with some natural yoghurt for pud)
Leek and potato soup made and bottled up in the fridge for this weeks lunches.
Just going to sort out the freezer and see what's in there I will list and print and stick on the outside of the freezer and do my menu plan for the next couple of weeks.Purse is firmly closed for awhile as Christmas is looming on the horizon and I have a stack of birthdays before then as well
Hope you are all having a good Sunday ,sunny but windy here in Kent
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Afternoon All
Hope you're all having a good Sunday. It hasn't rained very much today, just a heavy shower mid-day but got the washing nearly dried on the line, woo-hoo!! Needed some good drying weather as DD cleared her floordrobe last night.
The rain and wind were really bad last night but I managed a fairly good night's sleep but feeling decidedly seedy this afternoon, hope it's not the sick bug that's doing the rounds.
More packing today and took some really big aluminium storage boxes to friends who live directly opposite where we are moving to to keep in their garage till the cellar is sorted.
Chicken pasta bake for tea - never made it before so we'll see what it's like, I have added sundried tomatoes for some extra flavour.
Take care. XX0 -
Christmas Cake cooking in the oven xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Had a busy day so far, we went car booting first thing and then on to the local nursery to have a look around, I wanted to get some parrafin for the heater but they didn't have any
When we got back I cooked the dinner so that it was ready early because we are going to a firework party tonight at the village cricket club.
I cooked a leg of lamb that I managed to get that was reduced from the co-op a couple of months back I paid about £5 for it and it should have been £16  there was loads on it, I still have enough to make a lamb curry for tomorrow and lamb in gravy for next week so three meals for 4 adults is not bad going
Molly sorry to hear about the dogs, some people just don't care about frightening animals. We never have banger rockets just fountains and catherine wheels, if people want loud fireworks they should just go to a display .
I am doing my Christmas cakes tomorrow.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
