V8 for under a grand.

It's not under a grand but there was a Bentley mulsane turbo for sale the other day , looked in brilliant nick as well for a paltry £2750 ! Now that's a lot of car for your money0

I'd add Grand Cherokees to Lexus LS, Disco or Rangie as probably be the most numerous sub-grand v8s, with the odd sheddy early X308 XJ8. Mebbe even some skanky '80s/90s yanktank imports if you aren't feeling too picky.0

Thinking with it being banger territory, I'd need to get one with a good MOT (9 months +).
The Merc 500, a guy had an old one of those locally, now THAT was a nice car.
Looked a jags when I've had my brainstorms in the past, even bid on a couple. Probably a car I'd like to own at some point
As for the BMW's, nice big buses too.
Old American tank wouldnt be out the park either.
Think I'll start looking for insurance quotes on limited mileage policies (it would be a second car). Sure I seen a couple of companies that took motorbike NCB for a car so can check that out too.
Only other stumbling block is space on the drive. Should be rectified soon.0 -

1st choice Jag, 2nd choice Lexus. Probably the jag, lots of electrical toys on the lexus which at £1000, may not all be working

With the Jag, check if the engine is on the original nikasil or if it has been replaced with the steel bores (on pre 2002 I think)0 -
As long as you can read the dash on the LS the rest should be a-ok....stage one tune is a must (drill holes in the underside of the air box !!!

all these v8s recommended seem to be high end car brands.
Not sure they are budget smart investments, as the repairs will be quite expensive.
someone recommended a bently. Broken wing mirror? That will be £1500 please!0 -
No one is going to buy a new wing mirror for £1500, there are many secondhand parts sellers who can keep an old V8 car on the road for a long time....if you do little miles and want a V8 then it gets a thumb up from me !!"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0
