Hi, my official parking permit ran out end of last year. Filled in paper, a new permit was agreed. I pay it every month out of my pay. But never received a paper copy, emailed them a few times then gave up.
Park every day at work and never have a charge notice. Till 2 weeks ago. I was parked out of the car park because my son was refused entry to the nhs nursery as they suspected chicken pox. So I dumped my car near my dept so I could walk him to the children's out patients to get seen to. He s 2 and can't really walk that far without getting very antsy.
The charge says I was parked in the wrong place and that my permit had ran out.
Years ago I had read these were unenforceable fines and never to pay them. So I haven't. But now I have a letter from the Trusts apparent solicitor.
How should I proceed, thanks

Ok a few questions please
1) who ticketed you?
2) is this England or Wales?
3) have you had a notice to keeper?
I'm a bit concerned about this as there appears to be something wrong, if this was a ticket on the car, how with less than 2 weeks solicitors are involved? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Hello stroma, thanks for replying.
It was the private parking company that ticketed me. It was a typical yellow packet etc on my car window.
England
And yes it was under 2 weeks. We received a letter addressed to the registered keeper. The letter states their client does not know who the driver was or what their address is and so they have gotten the details from dvla. Yet in the same letter it states my out of date parking permit, it wouldn't be rocket science to check and realise who the permit belongs to and in what dept they work. I do pay it every month.0 -

After a yellow 'imitation parking ticket' packet on the windscreen, AOS members are NOT ALLOWED to get DVLA data until day 29. Complain to the DVLA immediately and attach copies of both sides of the 'ticket' and the letter, and ask why the DVLA has released data before day 29 after a windscreen private parking ticket:

Which private parking company (look at who the ticket says to appeal to or make payment to) and which solicitor?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This sounds an appalling situation.
Scigal, please provide the above details and you'll get good advice on how to take this further. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hello coupon mad.
I don't think I have the original notice ticket anymore, i think i binned it in temper.
The solicitor is. Trethowans0 -
I also have a disability, but No blue card. Not sure if that matters?0

Yes it will be relevant to your appeal. You don't need a Blue Badge on private land if your condition caused you to need to park close to the building due to mobility or other long-term medical issues (not the chicken pox your son had as that's not long term).
Can you show us a scan or photo of the Trethowans letter? Does it mention the date of the 'ticket'? Are you sure it is about the same 'ticket'?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi yes it's a its the same ticket, it's the only one i have had or have knowledge of. It also does state then supposed contravention, so it's definitely about the one issued.
Yeah I have a Long term disability of fibromyalgia, but generally I'm fine, i work full time and park in the multistory but needed to park next to the office on this occasion , and the parking was so ludicrous that I couldn't get into the multistory after id taken the tot back to nursery.so I left it where it was.0 -
Please can you show us the letter? You will need to scan it or take a photo of it anyway, to attach it to your complaint to the DVLA.
Let us know what the DVLA say next week and then you will be in a more informed position to respond to the Trethowans letter. It's best if we see it so we can advise you how to respond to it.
Trethowans do sometimes try court cases over these - but we have also seen them beaten in court and/or seen off before court. So be reassured that you DO have options as well as complaining to the DVLA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
