Out of interest is the Ayla after the character in Jean M Auel's Earth's Children books?
Near where I used to live we had a boy called Levi whose wee twin sisters were Dolce and Gabbana, honestly
Yes, she was., it was in "clan of the cave bear".
When my daughter Victoria was born we were often asked if it was after Posh spice! Or the railway station as my OH is a train buff
It was neither.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I'm finding the new craze is for parents to spell their little darling's names differently but same phonetically, for example Megan becomes Meghan, Megun, Meggan, Meghan, Meghun, Grant is Grante, Denise is Deneese, Michaela is Mykayla, etc etc. Actually, thinking about it now it might not be because they want a special snowflake name, but because they're writing it how they think it's spelt! I've seen so many, they are just a handful, but I've also seen A LOT like Mercedes, Chardonnay, Honey Boo Boo whatever.
My parents were going to call me Hermoine and I'm bloody glad they didn't else I wouldn't had a nightmare what with the Harry Potter movies!
Never seen Grant spelled Grante, or Denise Deneese. Ive seen a few different spellingss of Micheala thought.
Also dont know any Chardonnays, a few Courtneys, a lot of Kylies.
I dont watch the twilight movies so it wouldnt matter to me what someone was called, I wouldnt make the connection.
I do think parents need to be mindful if their kid is growing up with a ridiculous name, but to be honest, I wouldnt give a monkeys what a lawyer or doctor was called. I think its just snobbery to think that someone with a name thats a bit chavvy couldnt do a job as well as someone with a traditional name.
If someones name really was totally off the wall, they always have the option of changing it, you can be known as any name you like, deed poll or not deed poll.0 -

Ewww, yes. It's a mix of Renee and Esme. I quite like Esme actually, my gran had a friend named Esme.
I've heard some horrific mixed names at toddler groups ... one little boy was named Trevelle! There was an apostrophe added in there somewhere, probably after the Trev. His sister's name was hyphenated ... T-Jai52% tight0 -
Heard of a couple who wanted to call their baby daughter something exotic, so called her Chlamydia....0

Might I recommend: Boomer for a boy or Bimbette for a girl.

I suppose Roo is a Dsiney character. His name's Reuben, but family spell it wrong, and apparently bible names are chavvy :T52% tight0 -
