I like Adonis and Zed
I love Isabella too!
I would choose Isabella Zoey if it were me.0 -
think about her future .Can you imagine Prime minister Daisy , Princess Ella or princess Kate
,ooops we have a princess Kate"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
We have an Eleanor and she gets all sorts from us at home, Bella, Ella, Nelly..and also Bez and Ezzy from my older daughter which I hate. However at school she is Eleanor and that is her own preferred choice too! Still I suppose she can adapt it as she gets older. I have to say I always loved the name Ella but it didn't go with our surname. I think Eleanor is a nice old fashioned name and not too common.0

Couple of genuine questions as I really, really don't understand...
Do you honestly believe that Zed is a great name for an adult with a conservative job as opposed to the nickname of a singer with a thrash metal band?
Why 'Zoey' and not the standard spelling of 'Zoe'? Why the need to add the extra Y?:hello:0 -
Honestly, I hate the idea of calling children anything "cute". My view is, what if they want to be lawyers, or surgeons when they're older. I'd have an issue with being operated on by Doctor Daisy. I always think, give them a sensible name and then nickname them whatever you like. That way if they want to be Bella they can, but if they prefer to be known as Elizabeth, or Isabella, they can too. One of my good friends did it the right way. She wanted to call her daughter Betsy, so legally named her as Elizabeth, and everyone calls her Betsy, but if she wants to have a more adult, serious name later, she has the choice.
My nephew on the other hand is called Ace. Don't do that to your kid. Please.0 -
I have a work colleague called Isobel, and she's referred to as either Isobel, Issy or Iss. She tells us her family call her something else again! My oldest niece is called Annabelle, and her Mum used to call her Bella when she was younger but my Mum hates it and to be honest I'm not keen either - I would say probably Ella is the best out of the bunch.
I don't often remark on unusual names that I don't like the sound of but there are only three names I cant stand - Rosanna, Rosie and Tiffany but that's more because of people I don't like with those names and whenever I hear them my back goes up immediatelyI once stormed out of a pub because they started playing that song called Rosanna and I couldn't bear to listen to it

Curiously, out of the 3 she listed, it's Adonis I have the biggest problem with. I mean...Adonis? If it was me, it'd be straight to the deed poll as soon as I was of age.0
