Let's hope that her middle name isn't used on the school register .....or she will be known as Izzi Lizzie!

Shouldn't be used but I'm sure there are a million worse nicknames she could get!
Her 2 year old brother calls her Izzi wizzy and i quite like it!

Our three month old daughter is Izzi, liked Isabella but it didn't seem in keeping with our Scottish working class backround!
Also a longer name didn't "go" with her middle name of Elizabeth

Hope you've arrived at a decision!

Isn't Isabella an alternative form of Elizabeth?!

I'm known by my middle name (long story, but fairly common in Wales) and I hate when I go to the doctors and I'm half asleep/dying in the waiting room and this name I'm not used to is called. I have to have my wits about me! Same with work when I sometimes get things addressed to one name, sometimes to another, it's a pain. Jx
I totally agree having got a son who we know by the shortened version of his name. I never know which 'version' I'm meant to put on stuff. Latest this week is he has got on a medical outreach programme via his school :T Acceptance letter came addressed to his 'full' name. Of course that's now the name that he's done on the Uni register as being and he'll now have to tell them to call him his short name instead. People who are known as version 1 to some people and version 2 to others must like confusing lives I think. There was a reason 3 years later we didn't do this with his sister. Her name is mentioned on this thread as being 'cutesy' but when she was born my Grandmother (now in her 80s) told me it was a name that she knew a lot of teenagers being called when she was younger, so it eventually became an adult and then 'old ladies' name before going back into fashion.

Oh and there's 2 Isobels in DD's year (yr 6). Neither is known as Izzy but by their full names, nor was there any confusion when there was an Ella in that year, despite there also being 2 x Ellie and an Eloise.

Middle names aren't called out on the school register. When they get to yr 5/6 a popular game to play in class with their schoofriends is 'guess my middle name', along with 'guess my parents names'. This is instead of listening to the teacher in maths classes so my 10yo informs me.

I used to work with a Sandy and his "real" name was Alexander.

    That's Scottish.

ETA: Just read the rest of this thread and wow, I never knew I was so special as to have my name discussed in these latter pages more than the original baby's name. ;);)

For me it would have to be Daisy.

I have to admit to some bias though as my first granddaughter was born a month ago and her name is Daisy.
