Was going to post epupz - great site, also have you tried the kennel club website? They have registered breeders who advertise their litters or upcoming litters on the puppy sales register.

If you really are serious about a dog and have the means to care for it and the costs etc, then i can give you the website to the rescue centre i foster for, they are in the south East though

My mum's dog came from a breeder, dogs in pens happy and fed but that didn't stop the poor wee mite from having health problems. One person's responsible breeder is another persons money grabbing cowboy breeder.
Personally I'm against breeding, considering dog pounds are full to bursting and healthy dogs are destroyed daily due to over population I think breeders should be ashamed of themselves. No matter how well they look after their dogs they're earning money of the backs of pound dogs. If people stopped breeding and we controlled our dogs by spaying/neutering (keeping some to save extinction) we wouldn't have the need for pounds. But then that's just my opinion. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
I agree Sleepymy
Some people who buy puppys from breeders find months later that they no longer can care or want them, they are then either dumped in rehoming centres or people give them away to just anyone who can come and pick them up.
People should research before they buy on impulse.
The rehoming centre i foster for have loads of pedigree dogs for rehoming, it's not just cross breeds who end up unwanted.0 -
I gave my mum a right lecture about buying from a breeder kimberly. She tried the pound but they only had big dogs at the time and they were looking for a small, young !!!!! for company for their 13 yr old after the rest of their dogs died. Their lil dogs have a great life on a retired farm and are spoilt rotten but we dread the new dog dying before the old one from the heart complaint because his lil heart would be broken all over again.
Rescue from a pound, go ooooon save a doggie life today :beer:The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
Hi,
We recently looked into getting a dog and I found plenty of useful people / centre for rehoming. Apparently there is a massive problem with unwanted dogs in Ireland so there (this sounds quite cold) is actually plenty of choice for the would-be dog owner.
for puppies in particular... (my wife is going on again that we should have a puppy nowthe boys are a little more savvy around dogs)
www.pupsneedinghomes.co.uk (it seemes so obvious) have some really adorable boxer/labrador crosses.
Depends on your location, but have a good look about the web for sites, try
www.animalrescuers.co.uk
or
www.dogpages.org.uk to find a centre local to you.
Just beware that once you start looking those adorable little faces are quite difficult to ignore.
Good Luck.0
