BB - not yet. We both come from the north and have fallen in love with the Yorkshire Dales. DH has 5 years till he retires and I know that we are very lucky to be able to buy the house now and spend some time up there with a view to moving permanently later.
I feel a bit embarassed because I know so many people are struggling, but we have worked hard all our lives and never had to rely on benefits (not that I think there is anything wrong with that) and been frugal so that we can afford it.0 -
Good evening friends ,gosh what a lovely lot you all are, I feel quite over awed by your kind thoughts.I too missed popping my 'virtual' head around the door in the mornings
Well, nasty rainy day today so once the dentists was done and dusted (only Henry needed a filling out of the four boys) I took them back home and fed 'em then dropped the eldest off at his pals house, and took the other three to the cinema. They watched 'Thor' and I watched the back of my eyelids:):)Whizz bang film that the little lads loved but totally mystified me completely.Still I feel quite refreshed now
:)
Eldest DDs OH had his interview for the promotion and he's got the job:):).I am so pleased for the pair of them.Ash (her OH) is fairly dyslexic and yet has secured a really good managerial post on the corperate ladder.Very little he doesn't know about building and housing needs and he has been hitting the books hard to get this job so I am really pleased for him.
He has taken her out to dinner tonight to celebrate.
I'm just off to dig out something to eat for dinner then its feet up and some knitting and t.v.
Hope you all have a great evening and a smashing weekend I have an ironing mountain to get through tomorrow morning, but that's another day and the forecast is wet so it will keep me indoors out of the rain:)
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Evening all.
I am feeling a bit blah ATM. Dunno why.
Did get the downstairs cleaned & tidied today.
Made pancakes for tea.
Jackie, good to see you back. Sorry about your pc. I always fall asleep at the cinema. Expensive sleep!
Hard up Hester, LOL!
Sorry, I can't remember what anyone else said.
Love (((hugs))) & spoons xxx0 -
I did get quite a bit done in the end with help. I told 'Youngest' he needed to clean his room. Shoved the cleaning cloth in his hand and took him the vacuum cleaner. Ive just done the kitchen floor.
Whilst doing tea I asked hubby to vacuum downstairs. I expected the usual 'it don't look that bad so leave it for tomorrow' but I didn't get it and he did it without moaning.
Oh, and ive been a little bit impulsive. Ive bought a violet hair dye for my hair. I'll test it on a small piece of my hair before I do the whole lot though just in case I don't like it.

Evening all! Finally able to put my feet up! Dropped OH off in town and then I went and did a food shop. Spent just under £40 so on track with what I would have spent at asda. Should do us for the best part of the month I hope!
Just watching some Rebus will make a coffee and wait for my orders to go get OH. Hopefully not too late!
Hester you make me chuckle!0 -

I am indeed! Well I am used to my plum coloured hair (the grey is pink though and it looks like ive got pink highlights:D).
Anyway, a couple of weeks later I am beginning to think the plum is a bit tame so that's why ive opted for violet.I dye my hair these kinds of colours a lot, give me a yell if you need digital assistanceI have to say though, i always have a box of dark brown dye in the cupboard at all times, in case of dye related fail!
