Not sure if anyone on here can help but I was wondering if anyone bought fragrance oils. I want to make soap for Christmas presents but not sure what to buy or where from. There seems to be a vast amount of shops online and as I'm not sure what I need to be buying don't want to end up paying more than I have to.
Thanks.
Hi lindseydee,
I've made soap once or twice (but only a few times - I'm no expert). I use essential oils. I don't know anything about fragrance oils. My gut instinct tells me that the majority of them would be synthetic, though, which is why I prefer the essential oils. I like the idea that they will have a therapeutic effect as well.
What were you thinking of using? Please call me 'Pickle'

tried option 3 on one side of the card they left(strangely this is not mentioned on the other side...only options 1 and 2)but the web address they gave apparently does not exist!!!!and the main website is no help.will check with the p.o when I go for the other one tho....DH says he ordered two things but they should both have been from the UK and as one started in Paris it must be mine!!!(oh yes that YSL evening dress I forgot I had ordered:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
checked with the post office and they don,t do this for DHL
so will need to rearrange deliver for next week......icons not working!:(0 -
Evening everyone. No UUs, but I'm plugging away at them.
Popped in to Tesco for milk on the way home tonight and went into the toiletries section out of habit to "look for deals". Realised that this could be so very lethal and I managed to walk away; I DON'T need any of the "deals" as I have them stacked high in my cupboard.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Essential oils cost more, but they are all made by a sort of evaporation process, so if 100% pure, it doesn't really matter where you buy from, lemon oil will smell the same from most places. I just tracked down the cheapest.
Fragrance oils are usually synthetic, and that makes them cheaper, it also means you can't always guarantee the smell. I try to buy them in store if I can, because that way I can smell them first. Online ones mostly smell in the vicinity of what I would expect, but there is a risk of a flop.
I'm copying home-made soaps I've bought in the past: Lemon and Rosemary (using dried rosemary from the kitchen cupboard), lemon, patchouli and sweet orange mixed together, and I also bought white musk and coconut.
Also try these:

My beeswax arrived today, and I'm looking forward to making them!0 -
I have a UU:
18. Dove Pro-age beauty wash 55ml - WMBA but already have a full size in stash, scent is much nicer than the classic Dove and it lathers well.
I *may* have placed an order with the Yves Rocher glitch, if honoured I will count as INs once received then go sit on the naughty step - I was doing so well...MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Hello all,
Just checking in with a UU for a couple of facial moisturiser samples after I used the last of my functionlab moisturiser. Loved this and was gutted to see the last bottle go. Onto L'Occitane skin brightening cream - not my favourite but we'll see.
My son was filling boxes for Age Concern tonight so I had a big clear out of toiletries, mainly some posh hotel stuff, nail varnish, shower hell and a couple of Cath Kidston hand creams. Still an avalanche of hand cream and samples left but I did feel better.
It's my 40th on Friday so a few ins expected!0 -
I've not bought anything new and am slowly working my way through my stash but it is going really slowly. Will get there one day.
I'm still struggling to get through my stash too but I hardly buy anything new these days either. How are the shower gels going?
My shower gel list is still very long!
I have ins:o
Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Bath & Shower Gel (my fave)
Philosophy Amazing Grace Bath & Shower GelEvening everyone. No UUs, but I'm plugging away at them.

Two more small use ups from my Project Pan list for me. Another sachet of L'Anza Solutions Urban Elements Remedy Shampoo (only one left now!) and the 1.5ml sachet of Nivea Visage DNAge Cell Renewal Day Cream. I really liked the smell of the cream but it felt a bit greasy and it has made my face slightly itchy so I definitely wouldn't buy it.Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -
Ooh thanks for the heads up - have never tried the moringa balm before and really want to.
Again, not wishing to be an enabler but you can pre-order the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette on look fantastic at the moment with 20% off :j
Has anyone tried the Aromatherapy Associates bath and shower oils before? I keep hearing beauty bloggers mention them and would love to try them
Thank you very much for the heads up re Naked 3, I screenshot the email for 15% discount until 10pm tonight and send it to my brother, he did ask what I wanted for Christmas...Also asked OH to tell Father Christmas about the Benefit Best of set from Boots...
He mentioned S&G the other day  so thought I'd better point him in the right direction, fickle one that I am :rotfl:

Boo all the discount codes available for Look Fantastic seem to have stopped working for Naked 3 so they've clearly got wise to that.... Still, brother has kindly ordered it for me anyway, so excited!! :j0
