I really wouldn't worry about it - the CEO won't judge you on your English comprehension !

I hope your right Hovite ;-)

After doing a search on here under VCS and Wickes I found this ongoing recent thread.

(they wont let me post a link but if youo are interested a search for VCN wicks should do it, there's mine and this other guys)

After reading through the posts it would seem that this guys wife is in exactly the same position as me, in fact it seems very likely that this is even the same Wickes and Grahams.

The similarities are uncanny no sinage etc.

The only difference is I DIDN'T buy anything from Wickes on the day and I HAVE appealed to the CEO albeit with dodgy grammar.

I am keen to hear the out come.

Its also apparent that all the responses to these PCN's are for the same few members, bet you guys get sick of going over and over the same thing.

    Morning
I have just received this e mail response from Geoff Cooper CEO at Travis Perkins.

    Dear Mrs J S

I'm afraid I don't know the store, or the car park, so could you clarify some details for me?

Were you shopping in the Wickes, or in a Travis Perkins?
Did the Manager try to imply that Travis Perkins had no connection with Wickes?
Is the car parking space part of a larger car park attached to one of our businesses, or is it completely separate?
Does the car park serve a number of retail businesses (sometimes we have no control over the parking companies, since often these people are appointed by our landlords)?

If you let me know these details, I'll get our property people (who are responsible for most of these car park arrangements) to look into the ticket you have been issued with, and see what we can do.

    Yours sincerely

    Geoff Cooper

How do I respond as he is obviously taking the approach that if I was using his store on the day in question then is seems likely he with cancel the PCN.

    The answers I have are

The reason for the visit to the car park was to browse in a Wickes or Travis Perkins on the day of the ticket.

The manager didn't suggest and connections between Wickes and Travis Perkins I asked who owned the car park and he told me Travis Perkins, he also added that they owned both the Wickes and the old Graham's buildings. (I didn't press this point with Mike the Manager s I wasn't led to believe that the businesses were linkied in any way). I did tell mike I had a parking ticket which was my reason for my enquiry.

Whether the car park is attached to one of their businesses is disputable as you will see from the image in a previous link of Google street maps, it is walled off and appears to have it's own separate entrance.

The car park only serves Wickes and what was Grahams (now closed).

Do you have any advice form on how to respond to this e mail

Travis Perkins owns wickes they are the same company
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

    Hi Stroma
Yes I know Hovite told me yesterday, which is why I emailed the CEO of Travis Perkins but now he has asked me a load of questions which I don't know how to or whether I should answer.

My suggestions in red below. Obviously how you respond is entirely up to you BUT please don't forget the time limit on appealing to VCS. Also it might be worth giving him the full postal address of the store.

I'm afraid I don't know the store, or the car park, so could you clarify some details for me?

Were you shopping in the Wickes, or in a Travis Perkins? No, I was browsing in Wickes for a current home project.
Did the Manager try to imply that Travis Perkins had no connection with Wickes? Yes, he implied this by saying the car park had nothing to do with Wickes but instead Travis Perkins owned it.
Is the car parking space part of a larger car park attached to one of our businesses, or is it completely separate? Given Graham's was also part of the Travis Perkins business I'd suggest that the car park must be a Travis Perkins owned car park.
Does the car park serve a number of retail businesses (sometimes we have no control over the parking companies, since often these people are appointed by our landlords)? See above.

If you let me know these details, I'll get our property people (who are responsible for most of these car park arrangements) to look into the ticket you have been issued with, and see what we can do.

    Yours sincerely

Thanks hovite, I will get something together.
Just a quick point on appealing to the VCS I have been advised previously to wait for a notice to keeper before entering into any correspondence with the PCN company. Is this still the case or are you advising me differently, I only got the PCN on the 31.10.13.

Fair point - definitely wait for the NtK but just don't let your challenges to Travis Perkins allow you to miss the time limit on appeal ONCE you have NtK.
