Apart from anything, I can't see ANY entrance signs there.

Hi
Just a quick update.
I have been to see the manager of Wickes and he told me the car park is nothing to do with them. The whole of the car park belongs to Travis Perkins who also own both Buildings, the current Wickes and the old Graham's building.
I took photo's of the main entrance to the car park and to the small entrance to the former Graham's bit of the car park alone with a close up of the little boards that are dotted about.
I don't know how to attach these to this thread.

He sold you a load of b**lsh1t then - guess who owns Wickes ? You've guessed it ...... TRAVIS PERKINS !!!! Go back and demand he cancels it and stops trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

You might also want to email the Travis Perkins CEO to :

a) demand the charge is cancelled
b) point out that either his manager is purposely deceiving customers or doesn't know who his parent company is. If the later then maybe some staff training might be necessary, if the former the sack !

Oh, here's the CEO's email address - geoff.cooper@travisperkins.co.uk

This is the e mail I am sending.
Is this adequate, my letter writing skills are poor when I compare them to the fab letters some other members have written.
Am I right in thinking I don't have to give a reason why I want it cancelling but just to say that I do?

Mr Cooper

I’m sorry to burden you with what you will probably consider a trivial matter but I didn’t know who else to contact receiving deceiving information from one of your employee’s this afternoon.

Yesterday my car was parked in a space outside of the building that was, until very recently, Grahams the Plumbers Merchant on Wade Street in Halifax West Yorkshire.

Upon return a PCN from Vehicle Control Services for the princely sum of £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days was on the driver window.

I have been today to discuss this with Mike, the manager of you Wickes store in Halifax as I wanted to know who owned the car park and request the PCN be cancelled, when he informed me it was Travis Perkins who owned the entire car park, I did not pursue this any further with Mike as I was lead to believe that Wickes and Travis Perkins were not one and the same thing.

Upon looking into this it’s clear that this is not the case, I have decided not to take this up with Mike at your Halifax store but to contact you directly.

My request is that you cancel the PCN issued by Vehicle Control Services

I look forward to your response.

Looks good to me. Polite but reasonably firm and also naming the manager who gave you the false information. You could add that you've been a loyal Wickes customer in the past but this PCN will force you to re-consider ever using them again.

I would replace "deceiving information" with misinformation!

Sent, I did add a bit about us using many of the different Travis Perkins businesses regularly but missed out the threat of not continuing to use them as I don't personally don't think threats are a good idea when you are asking someone to help you.
We will see how I get on.
Thanks Hovite.
Do you think its necessary at this statge to work out how to post the photos I took today?

My subtle edits, otherwise it is fine. :)

Danm esmerobbo I had already sent it before I saw your suggestion.
Never mind too late now.
I will trawl the forum to see if anyone has had any success with this request from Travis Perkins.
I am a little bit anxious that this be nipped in the bud before it gets beyond POPLA as I don't think I am capable of fighting a court case.
