B and Q blackout blinds

I have blackout blinds myself. They're white so any contrast in colour is not particularly visible, but one side is indeed white and shiny. This is the side that faces the road. They look great - really clean, tidy and minimalist.
TBH, though - I don't much care what they look like from outside. I don't live outside."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I too had a set with "shiny" material on one side.....it was a thermal blackout blind.
Keeps heat out during summer and in during winter.
Worth what I paid and then some. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If you've already rejected one blind because of materials and looks, you need to physically see the next ones when you buy them.
Don't buy online if you have requirements that require touch & feel. Spend your time and money in a local shop. It might cost you £1 more, but you get what you've seen, felt, looked at, etc.
You won't be taking it back because it's too shiny, the wrong colour, or has a label on it, because you've already seen it in the flesh. Your life will be easier.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

I don't just shop online for the savings, but also because I live out in the sticks and also have a wife whose health problems mean she can't trail round shops much.
I think on this occasion though, you are right. I'll have to bite the bullet and make that trip to the 'bright lights'

I live out in the sticks too and recently needed new blinds. After much searching in shops, I decided to google blinds and put in the nearest town.
It turns out there was a company based about 2 miles from me who did blinds, but most of their work was in London. I phoned them and the boss came out to see us with books of blinds to go through. We chose the material in our house, comparing it against the walls, etc. He went off, got them made, brought them back and installed them. He might have been more expensive than the big warehouses, but he was cheaper than the likes of John Lewis and we didn't have to leave our house.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

The ones Harry Corry supply are the same colour on both faces. It appears to be the central core which contains the blackout material.
Come on people: just because they're from Northern Ireland doesn't mean they're going to explode when you hang them.0 -

I'd like some where I could pull the cord in the traditional route, that would go well with my sash windows.
(whooosh as the comment goes over some people's heads)1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Hi, do you know if they send out sample swatches as they don't mention it on their website. I will contact them to check of course, but just wondered if you knew. I am after a darkish red. The one on the site looks really light - almost pink, but I know that the colour on pics and on computer screens can be very deceiving.
