Good evening all you lovely NSD gang members, and well done on collecting all those NSDs - only half way through the month and still time to get loads more! I am now the proud owner of 6 NSDs!!! If you look into the Cauldron of Doom, you will see mine all huddled together, supping Italian red and nibbling on canapes featuring my favourite strong cheddar and crackers - and not a hint of Igor's tuna and marmalade chutney to be seen!

Now, today should have been another NSD but - mea culpa, mea culpa, I have sinned....our village post office had some delightful Christmas tree baubles on sale. They are about 5 - 6 cms (ooh get me, all metricated!) in diameter, hollow, with a few sweets inside. The outside looks hand painted, with any one of twelve designs, representing the Twelve Days of Christmas song. I bought number 1 (partridge in pear tree) and as a result of that, my number 7 NSD went down the Swanee.

However, judge ye not too harshly, folks, these baubles are only 99 pence each so I didn't exactly break the bank. And, seeing as I will be chained up at work all weekend, another couple of NSDs will be winging their way into the Cauldron of Doom.

Kerri - sad news is often like manure - comes in great shovelfuls. I do hope that is the end of sadness for you for now, and you're right, sometimes we do get a reminder from the Fates that we have so much to be thankful for. Will be digging out one of my best Narglehugs and sending it through the ether in your direction.

Knitwitch - pah! to chest infections. Treat yourself to loads of steam inhalations (stuff like eucalyptus is very good) and herbal hot toddies, rest, and let your body tell you what you need.

As ever, thanks to ETO, MissE and Sazzie - this thread still rocks!
One life - your life - live it!

Thanks for the hugs Nargle I think someone bypassed the shovel this time and went straight for the ton delivery, it really has been shocking. Thanks everyone else for your kind words too, trying to keep things together and stay positive thinking others have it worse than me.

The Christmas decs sound gorgeous, I'd have bought all 12 days I think lol.

No NSD here, went a bit wild in the £1-1p store, wheelie bin liners, two bags of micro rice for 69p each and some snack a jacks for OH.
AlSo a whole 1.98 at the market on fruit and veg, then £3 in 'used to be bejams' on that posh gasro fish on offer for £2 a pack, basal dusted with salt and pepper, yummy, oh and some white lasagne sauce for £1 (over two quid in tacto ) I know I could make my own but I actually prefer the shop bought lasagne sauce....:o

OH said he'd have some tomorrow so I have to adjust recipe to veggie lasagne, but I find it's a good recipe to use up veggies anyway so shouldn't be too tricky.

Boot camp at 6.30am tomorrow.....wish me luck

  • Had a spend day. My sister wanted a drink which was fine because I owed her £1 but I cunningly brought myself a drink because it was 99p for 2. Then I brought a piggy bank , its an actual piggy bank. Then my sister's boyfriend lost his bus pass so I got out £10 for him so he had enough bus fare to get home and back over mine in the morning.

    So an unplanned spend day.

Hey Fedup did I read you've invested in a new gadget...enjoying it?

Kerri/ETO barcardi breeders, very easy road to ruin for me, just like pop :rotfl:

Am having a few non NSD days this week, I think it's down to being a bit worried about something and I'm loosing focus or will power. Ah well, knowing what's causing the spends is key to controlling them as Freeby :A would tell us. Saver-upper and Buffy take note:p
Onwards and upwards, wiggle day tomorrow for anyone who can figure out how to post images

thanks ETO and MissE for keeping up

Managed to spend a fortune yesterday on groceries and Xmas shopping so I certainly need a fair few NSDs. Tomorrow will be a day of cleaning, tidying and sorting, then we have plenty of ingredients in to make a yummy tea before watching Children in Need tomorrow night. So tomorrow should also be a NSD. Saturday and Sunday also because I am working two 13 hours shifts these days so as long as I am prepared and take my meals to work then I shouldn't have time to spend!!

  • Evening everyone,

Just popping on to ask if it's ok if I update every other day?

I will try and do some updates daily, but having my little baba who is 6 months old I am having to use my evenings for ironing, prepping his food etc and sometimes prepping my own. :D

My plan is to read daily if I can, but to update using the posts following my updates to compile the next update, if that makes sense. So it will still include everyone's posts/ declarations it just might be a day out of date.

    Is that ok?

    Hope everyone is well.

Sazzie - was that a slip of the tongue, I'm sure there was lots of breeding on the bacardi's back in the day.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh and a spend day for me. Went for lunch, £ and needed to get some orange juice in for my friend visiting, then she didn't have it anyway. Pah.
