Heavy Landing

I had a flight delay of 21 hrs due to the plane having an heavy landing on arrival, that is what the pilot said. The plane had to be inspected for damage.
This is what the airline said. “The flight was delayed due to an unforeseen operationally significant defect which required rectification prior to further flights”
Dose anyone think I have a any chance of getting compensation?

The recent appeal ruling covers all of these things now.

Just wondering if your flight was TCX2487 from Skiathos on 18th September (well 19th actually!) If so we could compare notes. I am currently awaiting a response to my Letter Before Action. Thought it was quite a straight forward case as the delay was entirely within their control - but they are still trying to fob me off.0
