You all make me laugh so much. :rotfl: no I would not go on TV the thought makes me cringe. The family already think I am quite mad but still enjoy the prizes I win.
What else would I do with my spare time now I am retired? apart from cook, clean, iron. Eek much prefer comping.0 -
Root canals? Sticky pin eyes? Sh****y sticks? Goodness sake...move over all of you *barge nudge barge*
*clicking fingers* Make up! Make up!?!
All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up
Oh hold though aren't you supposed to pile on the pounds on screen?
Scratch my name off the list then....I doubt I'd even fit on a wide screen tv. And God help the poor soul who might watch it in 3D!!"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming"0 -
What is the show called? Compaholics (not so) Anonymous?
Thanks but no thanks!2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0 -
Hoisted by my own petard - whatever a petard is
:rotfl:
Blu X
It's an explosive device - it literally means "to accidentally blow oneself up with your own bomb". I know this only because, at the age of 11, I decided to look it up to find out exactly what my grandparents were on about! I originally though it meant to get caught up in a flag and end up dangling from the top of a flagpole after it had been "hoisted" up :rotfl:
Anyway, back to the topic in question. I think we can all agree that what the world really needs is a programme to encourage thousands more people to enter competitions and lessen our own chances of winning..........................................oh, wait a minuteLiving with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -

Wow! This forum never ceases to amaze me. Thank you loads for that. I'm gonna try to remember that one, cos I use the expression quite a lot - usually about me
Blu XI am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!

From past experience-
We lived near one of the Central studios (before it was closed down) and one of these late night issues in the news type programmes live on a Friday night was done there.
The local twins/multiple birth club was contacted for any members who would be able to go along for a debate on multiple births (it was at the time of the woman who was expecting 8).
We were supposed to be there to give the positive aspects of multiples, but it was anything but...
The only interesting thing was the experience: having a taxi to take me to the studios, the waiting in the green room- alcohol available as well as soft drinks and munchies. And the live recording bit.
Having seen other 'reality' type programmes, accepting this latest opportunity would be STUPID.
The only excuse for doing so would be INSANITY0 -
After watching Channel 4's program "Bouncers" and seeing just how they made my home town seem, I'll politely turn it down too. Well, politely to MSE at least.
Channel 4 are all for making something seem a lot worse than it is, and this would be the same. We've seen the backlash compers get when they are in papers, TV would make it wholly worse! Thanks to all posters :A0
