If the son really managed to do this then he should look into applying for a position at MI5 before he gets arrested for doing something illegal.

I'm intrigued as to where on Facebook you find another users IP address? IP addresses are given out to your computer from your ISP, and can be different every time you power on your computer to use the internet. OK some users buy/request a static address, however the vast majority would not do this.
As some have said it's easy to fake an IP address. With the OPs story I smell Shi*e!

Husband doesn't know any other details. I told him what some of you were saying about the IP address and he said so maybe someone is not telling the truth then.

It wouldn't at all surprise me if the mother wasn't very tech savvy so takes whatever the son says as gospel - my mum knows sod all about computing so I could spin her quite a few yarns if I wanted to.

The son is probably !!!!ed at his dad for just walking out on them so has spun a little tale of naughty doings with Taiwanese transsexuals out of hate.

I get the distinct feeling that the guy has posted something on facebook with his location turned on and it says where he is.

    Man has left wife
    Man has moved abroad
Man cannot sell house without wife's permission so will need to return to UK instigate legal proceedings to do so

    Those are the relevant bits-

    Irrelevant bits

Son may have had previous contact with Dad
Son may have axe to grind (but sounds unlikely to have made it up knowing it would hurt his Mum)
Son may have made a clumsy attempt to let Mum know what is going on
Mum is probably my age - although I'm very tech savvy I'm amazed how many women my age are completely unable to do anything on a PC beyond surfing - Son may very well have seen a location on FB and made it sound like he was cleverer than he is by implying it was harder than it was to find him
This is a third or fourth hand story-details get garbled .

I presumed that the son maybe had access to the father's account and checked where he logged in from. You can see all your active sessions from the security page which will show you roughly where you are logging in from.

Does it really matter what the absent husband is doing now? He has walked out and didn't leave a forwarding address. Kids are grown up so no need to be considered in settlement.

The 'ladyboy' details etc are just salacious and there was really no need to mention them... other than to grab everyone's attention.

The wife should just go to a solicitor and take it from there.

The only reason I mentioned those details was so people could ascertain his state of mind/level of betrayal. Just to see if it made a difference to the house outcome.

Just want to say that Taiwan is not famous for ladyboys. And on the occasions of me visiting that end, never saw any. You sure it wasn't Thailand?

This story is a bit like Chinese whispers. Something probably changes every time it is retold. Taiwan is what my hubby said but suppose could be wrong.

Other woman, man, 'ladyboy'... why does it matter what 'flavour' his new partner is?

How on earth can we 'ascertain his state of mind' from third party comments?
