Yes... the son went to his dad's FB page and got an IP address and from that he untangled the whole sordid mess.

    Did I miss something?

Probably not because I did not know every detail of the story. I actually said he tracked him down. Once they had tracked him down the story came out somehow. I'm sorry I posted on here without knowing every detail but my question was actually about the house.

Can't help, but I thought mid-life crises involved buying a Porsche or having an affair with the secretary, not flying to Taiwan, abandoning your family without a word and dating a transsexual.

    I must be very narrow-minded.

My husband said they think he is having some kind of nervous breakdown.

When I was a teen a colleague of my mums suffered hugely because her husband walked out, left no message and never came home or communicated. The worst was feared.

After several years, he made contact with his then adult children so that he could pave the way to a divorce and share of the marital assets. No idea how it all ended. It just sounds so cruel and calculating making victims of his formerly nearest and dearest.

Always knew that power of attorney would come in handy.

Does he know this work colleague well and is it supposed to be a close relative? As I've just said on fb in response to someone reckoning hackers are clearing out the bank accounts of anyone with a giraffe profile I'm a huge cynic when it comes to these type of stories. Not that I'm saying you have made this up Tesuhoha or your DH but I am wondering if he has been spun a story.

The friend is not the type of person who would do that. Anyway, the woman has been abandoned by her husband so I was wondering what her rights were with regard to the house.
