Recommend a small smartphone?

I noticed the lumia, which I was liking the look of, only takes a micro sim. I am leaning toward an s3 mini at the moment. I am not sure why no HTC alternatives have been mentioned, don't they have a wildfire S replacement in their range?0

If you already like the way HTC does things, the Desire X is a good smallish screen phone, and you should be able to get it for less than £200 sim free.
But don't write off the bigger screens just yet - I can easily get my Galaxy Nexus into my pocket and that has a 4,65 inch display.
In fact, with the Nexus 5 coming in a few days, you should be able to pick up a Galaxy Nexus (2 versions older than the 5) ridiculously cheap 2nd hand as people upgrade.0 -
+1 for the desire series, I've got a C and it's a decent little phone........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Nokia lumia very good phones ,zune can be a pain
Samsung phones are very good my problem with samsung phones is app storage samsung fame with 4gb internal storage means apps and operating system have to fit on 4gb regardless of external memory ,most s3 come with 8gb internal memory which is still tight ,you can get a 16 gig version but it's more money so if you like a lot of apps it's a pain0 -
Do NOT go for the Nokia Lumia.
Nooooooooooo!
My work rolled out Nokia Lumia 520s, and nobody has said that they like them. They are really cheap and horrible. A number of people (including me) have spent their own money getting iPhones to use instead. (I got a s/h iPhone 4 for around the £100 mark, and it is way better.)
I would not recommend the Lumia 520 as a business tool either, but after using mine for 6 months, as a budget smartphone for the average person it is great. If I had plenty of money, I would probably buy an iPhone instead though!0 -

Another vote for the razr i, I've had mine for 6 months now, using it on giffgaff with no issues and the battery life is great compared to my old galaxy ace0

If you want Android I would strongly recommend getting a dual core Android phone, with as fast a processor as possible, pref 1.2 GHZ or higher.
The HTC Sensation though old is available for about £165 on Amazon sim free. 1.2 GHZ dual core and if you know your way around your wildfire then you'll have no issue.
In Windows phones the Lumia 520 is a cracking buy.
iPhone 4 is starting to struggle and the 4S will be out of your price range.
Any apps you desperately require? Excellent bargains are to be had in Windows Phones with decent specs. Stay away from low end Androids, they are the bane of the smartphone world0 -
