Have you considered whether your anxiety has a physical cause? Your description of a "constant knotting sick feeling in my stomach" sounds really familiar to me - I get this irrational anxiety at a particular stage in my monthly cycle. I always think that everything is about to go horribly wrong and it's a relief when I remember that it's purely hormonal. There are a number of possible physical causes of irrational anxiety. Just a thought.
  • I am due on and I only really get irrational feelings when i'm suffering with PMT, it's become a bit of a running joke.

I suffer from generalised anxiety disorder and have done for about 7 years.

I have never stopped her from seeing or talking to anyone, like I said - I have never brought this up to her I try to keep it under wraps but then like I said, I do get a little sulky.

I have no doubt that I am in the wrong here.

You haven't stopped her but you've done your darndest to make sure you've spoiled her enjoyment.

Look at the football incident - She invited you -you refused (for no good reason -she wouldn't have invited you if she hadn't wanted you there) and then tried to lay a guilt trip on her.

    You sulk

Passive aggressive behaviour is not attractive

You don't stop her talking to anyone.....but make it plain you aren't happy when she does.

You're jealous of an ex....a relationship that fell apart over distance (but then you say the distance wasn't that far....so the reality is that was probably the polite reason they gave each other when the reality was it was a teenage relationship that had run its course)

As for blaming it all on PMT - don't be so pathetic - most women get PMT - they don't use it as an excuse to wreck their relationships-If it is that bad -go to your doctor and get some help in reducing the effect......or alternatively keep messing up relationships with your moodiness and unreasonable demands (do as I say not as I do) until you hit the menopause in 25 or 30 years !

    MSE Florida wedding .....no problem
  • I said I did not want to go as they should catch up on their own. I then suggested that we arrange a proper evening out together where her friend lives at a later date
