Had to phone and add the usual prebookable seats, wheelchair help in airport, extra room so we're not all squashed into one room, airport parking, but total was £2133:j for 4 adults. Great stuff.I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea0

 You made the right choice.
Unless you fancied going to the equivalent of Morecambe in winter !

If you bothered to read your own link properly you will notice that it says the hotels were at roughly 20% occupancies during the summer season. The summer season was a couple of months ago now and was when the troubles were at their peak and on the TV here. You made the right choice.

Things are picking up nicely now and other nationalities are starting to resume flights. The resort centres such as Naama Bay are far from empty of an evening.
Egypt has recovered from far worse than this before and it will do again.:beer:0

There's a reason why Egyptian tourism has gone down the toilet.
 Just read a newspaper.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, of course.
Egypt's tourist decline has been going on a lot longer than this summer, going into a massive drop after 2011.
I doubt we'll see any significant recovery this winter as the country is simply too volatile at the moment.
I certainly wouldn't risk the safety of my family for a few cheap rays in December, particularly when there are so many better alternatives on the market than having a gun-toting security guard making sure you feel safe slapping on the Ambre Solaire.
Terrorists in the region are not stupid - Western tourists have been easy targets before and could easily be so again.0

You would have done well to have titled the thread ... "Any issues for an Egypt holiday over xmas, the alternate is Agadir"? ... Then I am sure that even the fearties on this thread would have told you to go to Egypt! The MSE Dictionary The MSE Dictionary
