We're looking at Egypt for a week over xmas. Had a look at the government website https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/egypt which says there is no trouble in Sharm. Apparently Russia and Germany have declared all Egypt a no go area.
Has anyone just returned from Egypt? Do you think Sharm is safe?

Nobody know what will happen in the future, it's a volatile situation.
So far, it's been OK in that part of the country so a fair bet it could stay like that.
Just make sure you have adequate insurance cover against losing your holiday due to civil unrest and make sure you pay for the holiday at the very last minute.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
I returned a month ago from Egypt, I flew into sharm and tbh I felt safer there than what I do on a saturday night out in Leeds.
I have just booked to go back out in January for some winter sun.0 -
In Sharm right now - quiet and peaceful.0

We booked a couple of weeks ago for ten days over Christmas going to Hurghada. We are re-visiting a hotel we know to be excellent. I have no worries and the price was stunning!0

Theres no need for this if you are using a reputable company as if the Foreign Office deem it unsafe to travel to then you would get a refund anyway.Just make sure you have adequate insurance cover against losing your holiday due to civil unrest and make sure you pay for the holiday at the very last minute
Which hotel are you looking at?:beer:0
