  • Morning all from a windy Essex.

Lots of love to you (((RR))) Thinking of you today xxxx

Himself working from home. No trains till 12 noon at least. BIL is also at home. I expect London is half empty today. We have got off very lightly though & for that I am grateful. Very sad for the 2 teenagers who have lost their lives in this storm. Can't be anything worse. x

Half term here also. Dd eating a huge bowl of rice crispies in front of the tv. Ds1 is in my room on the x box. Ds2 is wearing my enormous cardigan & watching you tubes on the other iPad.

I need to get on with the housework really but am unsettled by the houseful of people! (No I'm not being lazy, honest ;) )

I hope everyone is ok & safe

    Love (((hugs))) & spoons

    Morning all,

welcome Sukysue. Good to have you here.

    Thinking of you too RR.

No dramatic scenes of devastation or loss due to the storms here it seems. Most of my friends down South are accounted for. Just one or two I haven't been able to reach. :(

Got Grandbaby for a couple of hours whilst his Mum and Dad are at the gym. I'm going out later. I need some cinnamon so i'll probably have a walk to Tesco a little later (if the weather stays bright and dry).

Hubby is out for the day and son is off out on his skateboard later I think he said last night. He's full of aches and pains though as he learned a few 'tricks' last night.

Havent decided about tea yet, I'll decide later.

    Have a good day all,

    Morning All,

Redruby - BIG HUGS for you all to get through today.

To everyone affected by the weather, hope you all survive relatively unscathed. I heard there are 140,000 properties in the S East have lost their power, hopefully they will be sorted sooner rather than later.
We seem to have missed the path of the storm and only had some strong winds yesterday afternoon.

Have a good day everyone

    Thinking of you today Redruby.

Weather was pretty horrendous this AM but cleared up now.

The dinner we had planned for last night, is tonight's dinner, as we didn't eat it yesterday.

Not much to report - more clothes to wash today, but other than that, should be a relaxing evening when I get back home (Although OH left his phone at his friend's so need to scoot over there after work!)
  • Morning...just ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) if you need one, especially RR and family, hope all goes well today.

We seem to have got off lightly with the storm, we did have wind yesterday afternoon, heavy rain at 5am, but thats it, just a strong breeze now.

Monday clean done. OH got up with me this morning, still moaning his foot hurts but the bruises are fading, he is too dependent on his crutches, its time he was starting to just use one.........why do I have a feeling this little effort is going to take months?????

Need to go to Tesco this afternoon to get stuff I cannot get at Aldi.....running short of shampoo and a couple of other things.

It was fine but blowy this morning so towels in the washer, now its as black as the ace of spades again, looks like I am going to have to dry them inside.

Hi all - a bit blowy in Concrete Cow Country, but thankfully no damage here.

Hoping the day goes as well as it can for Redruby and family.

Oh dear, I hope it's not the start of an epidemic - ours has turned up it's toes, too.:( Mr LW made enquiries about getting it fixed, but it was £112 just for a callout, with parts, labour and VAT on top, so we decided, given the age of the micro, and given we can get a suitable replacement at a price we can afford, to get a new one. Arg0s are (hopefully) delivering it tomorrow.:T It's a combi, because I need a combi - the ancient built-in oven is decidedly hinky these days, takes an age to heat up, you have to set it 10 degrees hotter than you actually want, and also it's a big oven to heat if you only want to bake one item.

    Afternoon all,

We seem to have had just normal late autumn weather, some heavy rainstorms and windy but not gales, so we are lucky so far.I want to take the dog out shortly so I'll put DS coat on and hope it doesnt pour down while I'm out.

    Hugs Redruby and family.

Julie,we are doing the reverse process to you,as Ds2 has been emptying his wardrobes-some stuff he doesnt want to take to his new house so its all over the floor ;)

I found an old double duvet, his bed which will become a spare already has one so it might become a dog bed when I have a minute,it's a bit shabby.Luckily their loft has been boarded out so they can fit some stuff up there too,as we have baby things and toys that won't be needed just yet.

Finances looking a bit grim as DH hasnt had a lot on in the last couple of weeks and what he has is outside and he keeps being rained off .Hopefully they will start a new job later this week that should keep them going a while, though its not in our town,so off early/late finish. All the menfolk are at DS2s,DS1 trying to sort out the TV which isnt quite right, and DH doing a cupboard, they might as well keep busy.

I've just had some parsnip and apple soup from the freezer and a roll.I made it months ago and never fancied it but it was very nice actually.I think I'll be doing more digging in there :D

Right, there is a bit of sun shining so best get me boots on and get out while its dry :DHope everyone is ok x

I ended up taking half a day unpaid leave. It was so quiet at the office, I probably couldn't really afford it with holidays coming up. But never mind! Got to spend more time with OH :-)
