Morning all,

redruby thinking of you and your family today x

Sorry I missed posting yesterday. We were still busy organising my dd and DGS and by the time the house was straight and I had done the mountains of washing( her washing machine has been broken for a week) I was exhausted. Ds3 made a spag Bol and its a good job, I was too tired to be any use to anyone.
She spent the afternoon ironing and generally getting herself ready for work.
It's half term here this week so I have DGS and ds3 at home. The latter of course still in bed, DGS was up at six thirty:eek: never mind it's got me going early. The weather is dark and dreary but no sign of the storm, hope its missed us. Hope no one has been too badly affected. Dd and dh have gone off to work and DGS and I are going to make a meat and potato pie for tea. I will be having something else as I'm feeling so much better not eating gluten.
Otherwise we shall have a lazy day. Going to bath DGS and then snuggle up and watch a movie.
Have a good Monday x

I feel let down :D Just the usual wind and rain that you'd expect at this time of year. A few strong gusts and that was it. I have swapped my old trainers for wellies for trips down to the chicken shed though :D

Baby blankets are done :j I'm going to make a poinsettia. There's lots of patterns online for them but I want to design my own. Today, I will be swearing a lot :D

Our microwave is giving up. The turntable won't turn, and when I turn the dial to set the timer, the time goes up and down even though I'm only turning it one way. Mr tru wants one with a grill, I say no because he insisted on that last time and has never used it.

I have a few eggs that need using, I'll boil some for snacks and make some quiches.

Hi everyone,

WEt and windy here but according to the Beeb the worst is yet to come - although I don't think we will have it as bad as the south west. It does mean that DH, DD and BF can't get to their jobs in London and will probably all work from here (bang goes my quiet day) so I probably won't get much os done.

RR I hope today goes as well as it can.

It blew through quickly here, I was in zombie-apocalypse mode, much to DDs amusement, but it was good practice. Still raining silly here off and on.

My knees and ring finger are no longer swollen so I assume that means the pressure has equalised. I have pressure atmospheric prediction devices built in now with this annoying disease ... and a scar that predicts extreme frost :o.

Off for a wander round the shops to select a baby gift for one of DD's friends, and to select a sympathy card as a much loved gran passed away.

Might go mad and buy the SW sausages from the market for dinner tonight - almost completely meat :T

Stay safe if the winds are still high for you and have the best day you can x
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
• Good morning everyone :)

Love and hugs to RedRuby and family and my thoughts will be with you today x

I hope anyone wasn't too badly affected by the storm? Only evidence here is heavy, blustery rain, so pretty much normal weather for us at this time of the year.

Spent yesterday evening helping GDD with half term project on WWII. She had no idea that my dad had fought in the war so we ended up getting out loads of old photos, talking about them and scanning them for her project.

Today I need to create DD's Halloween costume and let GDD decide what she wants to be, we have already had several odd suggestions from her including a Morph suit covered in blood stained handprints! I am trying to steer her to something a little more normal and easy for me to make.

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

Morning all.
Redruby-thinking of you all, hope your darling dad gets the send off he deserves xxx
Wind seems to have died down, still a bit wet but whet's new there???
Today would have been mum and dad's anniversary, so need to go and buy mum some flowers. Need to pop in to MILs while I am out, her sister and BIL were meant to be arriving yesterday, and if I pop in there they won't come here to see me!
Will have to iron my work uniforms, otherwise no energy for anything at the moment, will see how the day goes!
Have a good day all, and stay safe!

• Not too bad here, next door has a fence panel that is hanging, but that is down to him to replace not us. We stowed a lot of stuff away before hand, so that can all go back out when DS gets his bot in gear.
DH phoned half an hour ago and said that they have lost power in the village. He will have to stay on site because if the batteries die on the alarms he has to be there to get the engineers out. So heaven knows what time he will be home, he can't do much because there is no power for the machinery, so he is just getting what he can done. He is only in four days this week as well, so this will put him right back :(

The free Trex 2014 calendar arrived on Saturday with lots of coupons, and so did the tin from Billington's sugar another freebie from the 2 packs of muscovado sugar that I bought for the Christmas cake and I didn't have to pay postage on either :)

Just housework to do today

Dinner tonight is chicken chow mein with the left overs from yesterday's roast.

Morning all.

(((RR))) - hope all goes as well as can be today.

It was good and blowy and rainy last night and continues, interspersed with hints of sunshine, this morning - normal autumn really :). DS1 has just driven off in his car to collect the GF and we've just checked the problems on the local roads. There's a fair few trees down but nothing along his route. The house is looking pretty clean and, as soon as I can bear it, I'll get the washing started again.

Off to have a shower, make coffee and get started on some work. Might even manage some ironing while watching Downton on catch up as a treat a bit later this afternoon. I know how to live... :D

Hope the clear up is straightforward for those who were 'got' and Hester, I hope your horrid neighbour sees sense and stays indoors.

B x
