Just wondering, how can you tell if a driver has points on his license?
Thanks

Not the card that is carried around in the wallet, but the paper bit that goes with it. Think it's green. A section towards the bottom IIRC.

No - A UK driving licence is in 2 parts - one a plastic photo-card and the other paper part.
On their own they count for nothing.
The paper part is where any penalties are recorded.
I often interview drivers for jobs with a charity and we tell them in advance we need to see both parts.0 -

Carrying your licence in your wallet is a waste of time unless you just want to use it as a form of photo ID.
If a traffic police officer asks for you to produce your licence the plastic part is no good without the other bit.0 -
safest way is a joint phone call to dvlc0

Pedant alert!!
And it is spelt with a "C" not an "S" as in licence.0 -
The green paper part, I think is called 'counter foil' or something. So the penalty points are in there somewhere? Is it easy to spot?
Thanks for the response, I can say I have learnt something.
