Morning all
DD is somewhere between the bus stop and school. I'm betting that since she's seeing her friends for the first time in over a week she'll forget to let me know she arrived in one piece, if a bit soggy after falling in a puddle.
So far this morning I've done some flinging, and found a big patch of fluffy mould on top of my freezer as a result. Will have to get some neat bleach on that once I've finished my breakfast.
Todays ambitious plans are:
Prepare veg for cooking.
Clean mould up
Wash up
Make beds
Tidy bedrooms up / put clean washing away
Put DD's old bed outside (going to put the mattress in a couple of wheelie bin liners to try and keep it drier for when it gets moved.) - waiting until the rain stops
Vacuum bedrooms/bathroom/stairs
Quick dust of bedrooms (DD apparently did them last week so they shouldn't be too bad)
Wash sofa throws/cushion covers
Dust livingroom
Vacuum / Steam mop livingroom
Clear ironing pile
Clean kitchen counters
Vacuum & wash kitchen floor
Then ideally:
Finish photocopying
Shredding
Sort newsletter for work
Sort through work paperwork
Well I'm off to make a start. Catch you later :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Morning all,
Hope you all had a good weekend!
House warming went well on Saturday, food was devoured (and huge praise for the stovies done in the SC, definitely happy with that purchase) and luckily my recycling gets picked up this Thursday as it's scary full  Sadly the one complaint I got was that it wasn't very warm and when I tried to put the heating on the pilot light came on for a few minutes then went off and wouldn't go back on. What a hassle! Luckily it wasn't too cold so left it till yesterday to investigate and still having same problem, tried the instructions to light it and still nothing. It would come on for a few minutes then go off and not go on again for ages. Friends and family were beign very helpful by pointing out the cost involved in fixing/replacing the boiler so there was lots of
This morning while showering I had a bit of a brainwave and went into the vestibule where I found what seems to be a thermostat (didn't have one in the flat, each radiator had one) and it was set to 10 degrees C. Now I'm not great with these things but I think that's quite cold. Turned it up to 20 and popped the heating on and the pilot light stayed on for 15 minutes until I had to switch it off to go to work so I hope that's the cause and solution. I may still get someone to come in and look at it (hopefully the guy who did the heating in the flat for me still does homers as was a huge cost saving, still corgi registered etc) as the boiler is very old, isn't a combi etc so might be more efficient to replace but at least if I know the cost I can budget and plan proactively rather than reactively!
House got a thorough clean in advance of Saturday and I spent time (too much, got in trouble) cleaning as we went along so didn't have much to do yesterday morning. Hopefully that'll mean a slightly lighter flying load this week so I can work on budgets, finances, meal plans, christmas plans and generally getting myself better organised now that the move and party are out of the way.
Haven't read the thread yet so shall go start now,
Hugs, spoons and vibes where needed

ETA: thanks for the list this week Natty
Two loads in the WM yesterday, DW and TD emptied this morning before paid stuff. More wet stuff hanging on the horse, will investigate/TD this evening0 -
Lynseyjane I have my heating set to 23 but I'm a cold person0

my heating is set to 16'C.. in my cold Victorian house
the boiler may simply need the thermal coupling bending into place.. it is a metal stick which keeps the gas flowing but it needs to be kept hot. ours cost £10 to replace!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
lynsayjane - the lowest I set my thermostat to is 14C, highest I've have it set on auto is 18C, although I do bump it up to 21C if its wet like today. I have controls on all but one of my radiators which I basically keep turned on maximum all the time, only time they get turned off is when I put the Christmas tree in front of one! I can get a very damp house though so I need to keep it at as even a temperature as possible.
Well the bathroom suite is clean, looks like DD did a proper clean after her bath yesterdayJust need to vacuum in there & mop. Bedrooms are tidy, as dust free as they can be and I've wiped the upstairs windows over to get rid of the condensation. Found a baskets worth of stuff to bring down. Next is a cuppa and then I'll strip the sofa throws etc to get them in the wash then on to the ironing after I've cleaned off that mould. No point trying to dust/vacuum with piles of ironing etc in the livingroom is there.

Morning all.
No chance of doing living room today as husband working from home, no trains till at least 12 noon due to the storms. So he will stay home today.
Will clean the bathrooms.
Hope everyone is safe

Morning all. I took up most of the clean clothes from the living room upstairs yesterday (so that's a job that doesn't need doing). I will hoover and dust the living room. Have a sort out through the drawers and pick up any bits of paper etc. I will also spend a bit of time sorting out the dining room. Oh and making a coq au vin for teaSaving for Christmas 2017 £120/£400 :beer:0
