Healing vibes and come-home-for-cuddles vibes for SickDog and a hug for (((Jazee))) to help you to keep coping.

We have scientist N staying with us, who arrived last night. His colleague managed to lock himself out of his house while walking his dog this morning, so they are currently having their pre-conference meeting in the dining room, along with Nutmeg, a four year old (today!) setter x whippet. Devil Cat is locked in OH's office and crying as guest dog is a cat chaser. Mrs Dog is trying to work out what all of the invitations to play mean. She is, as usual, most alarmed by normal dog behaviour.

*jealous* of people with ankle boot collections. My one pair is completely shot and I can't find a replacement pair I can afford that I also like.
    Better is good enough.

About to start a few busy hours of paid stuff, but please can I ask for some more of the flylady come home vibes for SickDog as she is back to the vet today. Of course, I will take their advice on next step but I really would like another week of cuddles with her as long as she is pain free and comfortable.
Come-home-and-be-cuddled vibes on their way. Only just seen your post, as I've had internet connection hiccups today.

Got a call yesterday - Jessie's coming to stay for two nights, arriving Saturday 17:00, going home Monday 15:00.:T

Mr LW wants to go to the cinema later, to see Thor 2. *rolls eyes*:D

Not getting very far today, both DS2 and I feel groggy and are coming down with something.

I have finished the bathrooms and done one load of washing. Lunch made, eaten and cleared up after.

Going to check bank accounts and do energy meter readings next.

Oh sorry Honey Bear - you can't have everything and you KNOW I normally have severe Honey Bear envy;)

going to kill two birds - DD wants to visit M'Hall (it will be rammed because the weather's awful) and I need to pop into school, not least because I have a huge bag of now-clean lego to take back. I also need her help to get a few display bits up, so we'll go via there and visit M'Hall later.

We moved in here on the Friday of half term. 15 years ago. It's nothing particularly special but it's my forever home - I asked the previous occupant for first refusal should they sell and it never went on the open market!

I think ours is our forever home, too - I did look into the possibility of getting a slightly bigger place, but bungalows are few and far between, and it'd mean having to have a mortgage again, so no, we'll stay put and make do with being a tad strapped for space.:o

Mine is not my forever home.. I want a little bungalow with a 2nd bedroom for guests (and stuff) when I am older and all my birdies have flown.. this place will be FAR too big with fewer than 3 children here. (bedroom each and a guest room)... though I might make that 2 children and throw in a personal gym and a craft room.

Not sure if ours is a forever home, once the boys are all gone in the future I think it will be too big and costly for our needs.

  • My mum said that her current home was her forever home. She has been there 28 years. Now, at 85, she is moving nearer my sister. She was determined to stay there until the end of last year when she finally decided she had to be near one of us.

As we stagger through the process of moving her it becomes apparent that she should have done this 5-10 years ago....

It has changed my opinions on this house - I think when the kids have gone we will be looking for a smaller place ...
