Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
    Hi all,
quick question and probably a very silly one but!
I've got leftover pasta and sauce that I wanted to make into something tastier for the BF for tea (poor love is feeling a bit abandoned now that i'm starting to put extra hours in at work, not that it stops him sitting in the spare room when I'm home to watch football!) I had thought of doing a pasta bake type thing with a crispy breadcrumb and cheesy topping.
Problem is I've no idea how to turn bread into breadcrumbs. I imagine it's something really simple like grating it but rather than make a mess I thought it would be better to ask!
Hoping to have a bit of time tonight to catch up on the flying and thread but hugs, spoons and vibes where needed. Hope you're all well, recovered from the storm where affected and enjoying the pretty effects of Autumn!

  • To make breadcrumbs I put the bread in my blender and whizz it until they are fine enough. HTH

Just popping in briefly, while I download me emails (if I leave it for a day they're unmanageable) - Mr LW has to nip to the surgery for his flu jab very shortly.

It's probably just me being an inappropriately seasoned 'Bah, humbug' type, but I seriously mind kids knocking on my door all evening, whether in fancy dress or not, and begging for sweets. I'm not a fan of that kind of American commercial culture and judging by the tat on sale in the supermarkets from the August BH onwards, it's colonising the UK.
HB, I agree, and I actually celebrate Samhain! I really don't care for kids demanding sweets/chocolate/money with menaces; hopefully, if years past are anything to go by, we won't get any callers.

We have done a major clear of the front garden (green bin is full!) as part of the "out with the old", and Mr LW has helped with a thorough dust of the lounge and hall (bedroom and spare room to go); then we get our broomsticks and have a merry time sweeping out any negative vibes hanging around the place.:o I shall be lighting black candles later on, (our only form of decoration - no tat here!):D and will do a Rune reading (some people use Tarot, but I'm rubbish with that). Bottle of "shampoo" as Mr LW calls it is chilling in the fridge.;)

My nut loaf recipe used breadcrumbs, I just wuzz the slices in the food processor. If you dont have a fp, you can do them with the cheese grater - use the side with the big holes - but mind your fingers, and work with a large bowl under the grater, on an easily-wiped surface, as if my pre-fp experience is anything to go by, they go everywhere.:o HTH.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Doing the turnaround in the room downstairs. When I moved the chair I found dark marks on the carpet, the (washable) chair cover and the pillowcase. Thinking back, there was a box of hair colour in the bin a couple of weeks ago. So, has anyone any suggestions for how to remove it?

I use a food processor to batch make breadcrumbs from all the crust and stale slices. I tried grating them but it made such a mess I gave up. (My fingers got involved in the grater as well, which hurt.)
    Better is good enough.

Two bags of stuff deposited at the scrap store, DS2 organised his volunteering and it is on his bus route home from school so easy to do. Picked up a ball of wool for the face and hands of another teddy - just have the arms still to do on Ted 1.

    Hoovering done.

Taking DS2 to work now plus a bag of stuff for the charity shop. I'll do some bits in town whilst I'm out.

Town was mad - because of this...http://www.chesterfield.co.uk/news-events/forthcoming-events/Chesterfield-Market-Festival

    but fun!

Got all the 'bitty' jobs/errands done thatI have listed and have some xmas gifts. Also stocked up on socks/tights at M&M because my wardrobe, adequate for 3 days a week at work, doesn't quite stretch to 5 days IYSWIM. Bought more make up for much the same reason - I just know what I have won't last until xmas and I don't want to spend
Saturdays getting into town when I am so busy. Plus the eyeshadow palettes I have really need replacing as they are OOD - and by a long time:o

If it was a semi-permanent it will wash out (I find mine does;))

Can't help you if it was permanent though; never used it.

    Shampoo the carpet?.

Top of desk done and 2 bags of rubbish in the bin. I cleared a storage basket eariler of DD's things so have put in there what I want to keep from the desk. Looks a lot better and clear for DD to do her homework :)

On one of the shelves I have a stack of Next catalogues that I'm going to put in the car for school for the children to use for collages. Anyone have any other ideas as to what to do with them? TIA xx
