Also there's no contract, so no notice periods when you want to stop for a while.

You just buy a pass for the duration that you want to watch for (with Sports that can be 1 day, 1 week or 1 month at a time, for Movies and Entertainment it's 1 month at a time).

Pass renewal is totally within your own control via your online account.

No need to stay subscribed beyond current pass duration when there's nothing on that you want to watch.

Bear in mind though that it's a streaming only service (there's no facility to record anything).

    Is it? I wouldn't know, I don't watch it!

If the availability of specific shows and/or movies to watch either live, via catch up or on demand is important, probably best to check the situation via the search on their website before buying a pass.

Also some shows and movies are NOT available to watch "Live" due to rights restrictions:

They publish a daily list of "slated" shows and a monthly list of "slated" movies.

I managed to do it after a few tries and a look at several sites to get it right. Getting the timing right on this instruction "Home, Home, Home, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right" takes a good few goes... and a look at a few sites on same subject. It's on youtube, one of those vids helped a lot. But if I can anyone can do it.

How to install third party apps on your Now TV Box: Turn on developer mode

"Turning on developer mode lets you install third party apps that you won’t be able to directly install from the Channel Store. This is a process called ‘sideloading,’ as you’re loading in an app from a side door, so to speak.

While it’s called ‘developer mode’ it’s actually not that hard at all - you don’t need to know anything about PHP, SQL, Agile or any of that other guff the Tech Support nerds always carp on about. "

Hi My neighbour has a terminal illness and does not have Sky etc,. I thought about getting him Now TV as a gift.
Can I get the 14 day free trial of the movie section and if he does not like it can I cancel the subscription(which I intend paying) without charge if I do it under the 14 day trial period?
    Many thanks.

If you don't cancel within the 14 day free trial the movie and entertainment passes only last a month and can be cancelled at any time during the month. There is no ongoing subscription. The passes last for a month and automatically renew monthly until you stop them which is easily done online.
  • Hi,

I am subscribed to the kids package on NowTv box as the wee lad likes the programes, but just wonder has anyone ever got any discounts on the £2.99 price per month?

I did try to cancel once but no discounts came up as they usually do with the movie packages.

    Thanks for any info.
